London Stansted?

Hi all. Suddenly, it seems we may have the opportunity to go out to Florida in August! Whilst this is very exciting I am somewhat concerned about booking flights 8 months or so out! Hoping to make the most of some potential sale flights and have noticed Thomas Cook are now flying from Stansted. Therein lies my question- any thoughts on flying to and from Stansted to the US? Has anyone done this?

The Stagnated route is new foe new summer and only a limited time.

The departure airport really makes little difference - if the price is right go for it

That's great, thank you. Thomas Cook flights from Stansted (for my preferred dates) are coming out a couple of hundred pounds cheaper for the two of us than VA or BA flights from LGW.

Interesting! I wonder how long they'll do that for.

Mind you, we only live 40 minutes from Gatwick anyway (and over an hour from Stansted) so it's not a difficult decision.
