updated below with a pic

So I have heard it's customary to give flowers for a dance recital. I decided I'm going to make a lollipop bouquet instead since flowers die pretty quickly. The lollipops will last a pretty long time, she will like it more, and she will think of her dance recital when she eats one (I hope). I bought all different kinds of lollipops, flower shaped ones, whirly pops, rock candy pops, etc. Has anyone ever made a bouquet like this? If so, can you share pics! Thanks :)

that is a cute idea... I also cant wait to see with what people come up with.

My son is having his first recital and I need something to give him.. this may work.

We got DD a cookie bouquet with 3 flower shaped cookies and they were in a plastic pot with the title of the dance recital and year on it. She still has the pot on her desk as a pencil holder.

ohhhh.....I love this idea! I hope you will post pics when you do make one....I'd love to steal this idea for dd next year!

That is super cute! but I don't want to do it in a pot, I'm going for this style of wrapping but maybe less tissue in the front so the lollipops show more

If you want it like a bouquet I would use long sticks and tape the suckers to them. If the stick shows you could use ribbon to cover that up. Also you wouldn't even have to use all suckers either. If she likes gum you can use those as fillers. mayber some hair items.

You could really have a lot of fun with this. I should make one for my son's concert.

Great idea about the sticks and ribbon, thanks! I make hairbows so maybe I'll make some flower ones!

Ohhh they do flowers for concerts too? DS has one coming up this month, his very first. I'm clueless about this stuff LOL

oh no I never have seen this done. But its a cute idea so I thought I would steal it.;)

One idea might be to do a Schultüte , which is something they give to kids on their first day of school in Germany

I have used the same idea for someone who did their first concert in Junior High, I made a cone and decorated it, put tissue on the top so that it could be tied closed... Then filled it with different candies.

You could fill it with Dance related items or Lollipops

Here are instructions on how to make one..

I never updated with a pic of the bouquet...here it is and she loved it! Much more than she would've loved those $25 bouquets that die in a week! I put cardboard in between the tissue layers to make it have some stability. Then just taped the lollips to the tissue.

These are so cute. I don't have a pic I can post since the only ones I have are paper prints not digital. I used one of these as my throwing bouquet for my wedding. Didn't want to throw my real one and wanted the person who caught it to actually be able to do something with it other then tossing it after a few days. I used he long stick lollipops. I bought them at walgreens way back then and they were all heart shaped to go with the wedding. I think she will love it.

That's adorable but the sweetie holding it is even cuter!! Great idea!

For DS play he was in. I made a candy bouquet. I taped all kinds of candy to straws and stuffed it in a cone made of heavy wrapping paper. It was a hit. I didn't even think about suckers other then the dumb dumbs I put in but, used pixy sticks, laughy taffy, peanut butter cups, butterfinger and many other colorful wrapped candy. The thing I was surprised by was how much candy it took. Much more than I planned good thing I wanted a variety for color so that I had plenty.

I am sure she will love it.

I don't have pictures on this computer but will dig some up. I was very excited how it turned out.

Thank you! The recital was an experience, that's for sure!! Fire alarm went off and the entire center was evacuated right as they were ready to go on. It made for a semi stressful time, especially since I was class mom LOL
