Hello :) I hope I can word this question in a way it makes sense.

We have a WDW trip booked for Dec, and would like to add a Disney cruise to the end of it. Do I just book the cruise through the DCL website? Is there a way to link the two? Is there transportation between the resort and a ship and then from the ship to the airport? (Like the Magical Express)

There used to be Land/Sea packages, but they weren't really worth it. You could book the land portion and the sea portion separately for a lesser cost and a better variety of choices on both parts of the trip.

You can book cruises direct with DCL, and book a room through DCL at a WDW resort, but I believe you don't get all the options for dining packages, and room choices that way. I think it's probably best to book each part separately.

There is a transfer service from WDW resort to the port, but it's not free (as the Magical Express is). The cost is $35.00 per person each way. DCL transfers are between WDW and port and the port to WDW or MCO.

Thank you for the information, what time do you usually have to be at the ship?

Generally, you need to be onboard by (at the latest) about 90 minutes prior to sail time. Out of Port Canaveral, sail time is usually 5:00.

Dobyou know if we can pay for the DC transportation with Disney GCs?
The charge is added to your DCL reservation, if you opt to purchase them. I'm not sure how/what forms of payment they take if you purchase at the door. You can apply Disney gift cards to your DCL reservation as payment, as well as putting them on your onboard account.
