Logistics of free parking with annual pass

Hi! We just booked an impromptu trip to go to Disney in 2 days!! Because it is such short notice, we are unable to fly and will be driving our own car to Orlando for the first time in 10 years - which also gives us the option of driving into the parks for the first time in a very long time as well. We are AP holders and should be able to get free parking but I was just wondering how that works exactly - do just we show our passes to the agent at the stand? (we've used nothing but Disney transportation for the last 17 years )

Yes you get free parking with AP. Be prepared to show your AP (or Discount Card if you have one) and your ID at each parking toll booth.

In my last 2 trips I was only asked one time to show proof. They scanned my magic band.

on many occasions i just show them my Annual Passholder card and they wave me on through. other times, they will scan the card and ask my name. never have i been asked to show ID. but it never hurts to have it ready. just be prepared when you get to where you normally would pay for parking.

I go often, I did notice that the Magic Kingdom tends to ask for ID more than other parks do. Some scan your magic band, some just look at physical AP. it depends on CM, park and crowds. Have fun

I generally show my AP card at the parking gates - I get asked to show my ID to match against the AP card about 1 in every 4 or 5 times...

I have showed my AP, I've had my band scanned, and I've been waved thru without showing anything. I think it depends on the CM's mood. I have never been asked to show my ID, but I am always ready to do so, just in case.

Our recent trip all but 1 time did we need to do anything more than flash our bands at the gate, that was at TTC once when they scanned it.
