Ok, so I just can't decide. I haven't been to the DLH for years, but my family has never been there so I feel like they should have the experience. I have stayed at the GCH for the past two stays - and I think it's spoiled me! We're headed down over the summer, and I'm thinking about doing the 5 for 3 at the GCH, with an extra night on the end at the DLH. If you've done this before was it worth it? How did you move your bags? Should I get over myself and do the whole trip at DLH? I have a 4 year old and an 8 year old.
Thanks!

This sounds like something I would do, though I haven't actually done it! I think it's a good idea in one sense because then you'll know next time which hotel works best for you & the family and everyone will be happy. The only thing I'd say is you might want to consider going to DLH first and do the remainder of your stay at GCH, just because it's usually recommended to end with the nicest property. Now, that's a hard call because your kids might have a different opinion than you do about what's nicest! Still, I think it might be easier on you to move bags at the beginning of your trip.

We have stayed at both properties. I like both. But moving on your last day ??? No way!!! I would stay at the GCH hands down evertime just by its location and convienience to the parks vs. the walk from the DLH.

With that said... some of the rooms at the GCH are VERY far from the park entrances and you would walk just as far if you were to have stayed at the DLH.

As a side note... the GCH has Pinocchio's Workshop (a babysitting service on property that we have used for our son who was 6 at the time and he had a BLAST watching the fireworks from the special viewing area on the roof!

IMHO --- GCH 100% and never look back!!!!

I have been spoiled too now by GCH and do not think I could stay at another hotel. But I would say also if you do split them do DLH first, then end with GCH.

My kids are 8 and 5 and honestly DLH looked too far to walk at the end of the day. My kids were whining about how tired they were and their feet hurt. I was SO glad our hotel was close (even if our rooms were still a long walk from the lobby at least we were already at the hotel..I loved it!).
