On the recommandation of the helpful people on these boards I joined You-First since i was going to be staying at RPR this June. I recieved a letter today which pointed out the benifits. What I am not sure of is what is considered "a stay". Does each night that I stay there count? Or do they count all 5 days as 1 stay?

a "stay" is one reservation.

you need 2 separate "stays" within the time period of jan 1st to dec 31st at any Loews hotel per calendar year in order to reach their blue level status.

that's the rules for the new program policy of You First.

i know.
it stinks.

I joined loews first a couple of years ago, but have never stayed at a resort yet. We are staying at RPR this June for my 1st stay. Since I signed up it has changed to you first and my account lists me as a blue member even though I haven't stayed anywhere with them. So, I guess I'll run with it!

i can tell you why you are blue.

last year, the ceo of loews sent out mass emails to all loews first members.

in it he stated as a "gift" to all members, they would be allowed to stay at their present status throughout 09.

as of jan 1, 2010, any member that did not have the number of stays in the program, would then be bumped down to the next level.

as you have been a member prior, even without a stay at any loews hotels, you are a loews you first blue member for all of 09.

I have been at platinum level for sometime now.
i earned the stays for each year.

under the old loews first system, it was the number of days per year staying at a loews that kept you at a particular color status.

now, the new program called loews youfirst, only counts the number of reservations per year to credit your account for your status level..

Thanks McRaven - Is there any chance I could get my room upgraded at check-in with my blue level card?

I hope I can due the same in July for 7 nights at blue status also.

at the pbh and the rph, there is a chance of free upgrade upon check in time.

loews you first states that if a room is available, you can be upgraded when you check in.

if you arrive early/before noon, your chances are greater of upgraded rooms free.

if you do not get an upgrade, tell the TM at check in, you would be willing to switch rooms during your stay when an upgrade becomes available.

i did that before and was switched on day 3 of my stay.

it's not difficult to move.

you pack all your bags and bell hops can put them in the new room while you are in the park if you so desire.

it seems like weekends are harder to get upgrades than weekdays.
or it was that way the last two years.

wow thanks! Are the free upgrades just to a room with better view, or is there a chance they would give me a club level room? We just booked the cheapest room online.

a standard garden view room would have an upgrade to pool view at the blue level.

at gold and platinum levels, upgrades are varied also.

platinum level gives you a suite.
