Loews First - change from blue to gold?

I was a Blue Loews First member before our trip last month. Our stay should put me into the Gold category now, but is there any way of checking what my status is? The Loews site recognises me, but gives no indication (that I can see) of my membership level.

Is the qualifying nights requirement per year or just per membership? If I stayed enough nights this year to qualify for Gold membership, do I remain as a Gold member or do I have to keep staying enough nights every year to keep that status?

Sometime database screwups at big bureaucratic organizations are good.

I've only stated at a Loews Hotel twice in my entire life, but for some reason, after I signed up for a Loews First card last year, they messed up and sent me a Gold Level card. I subsequently called them to confirm that their database had me in Gold, which it did.

So my famly and I enjoyed "unjustified" Gold benefits a few weeks ago when we checked into the HRH!!! Heh heh heh.....

So, will I be sent a new card if I've changed level? And will that card then be good for the time of my Loews First membership, even if I stay only every two or three years?

I'm a Loews Gold member, have been one for several years, and, as far as I know, I will remain one. However, I've never actually managed to benefit from my 'gold' status. Whilst some on these boards seem to have managed to get a discounted rate (AP in my case), plus the gold benefits, I've never achieved that.

I tried to get a 'guaranteed' upgrade last time we stayed at PBH (I tried really[\i] hard ), but to no avail. When we stayed at RPR this year, I didn't even bother trying - too stressful! It does grieve me when I know that others have obtained the upgrades (and check-in goodies, although I can live without those), particularly when I look at our bill for our stay at The Regency in New York over New Year 2003/2004! They should be fawning all over me!

i was a blue card member for two years and when i hit the number of days you need to qualify for gold, i was sent a new gold card.

i forget the number of days needed per year to change levels.
yes, the card status is based on the number of night stays per year.

yes, gold status does help.
guaranteed late check out of 2:00
free upgrade at time of making the ressie if you ask.
welcome gift if no black out dates.

i know the status helps as i am getting a free upgrade to a deluxe in my next trip. i made my ressie in march and put the request in then. received the email to confirm the change.

I'm nowhere near your level, Deb, especially after your NY trip! It's disappointing to hear you've lucked out on the 'guaranteed' benefits. I know it's not a make-or-break factor in enjoying a trip, but it is irksome when everyone else in the whole wide world seems to be getting perks that elude you. On our recent stay at RPR I wasn't expecting the welcome gift as we had an AP rate, but I was asked at check-in which gift I'd like. What peeved me was the fact that the gift never arrived (and because they'd asked me about it, I gave them a couple of gentle reminders throughout our stay ).

Anyway, a girl can never have too many gold cards in her purse

if you are told you are to receive the welcome gift, you should hve received it. next time that happens, ask to speak to the manager.

rph is excellent in service. the employees there are exceptional.

maybe when the shift changed, something was over looked.

I became a gold member in 2003 by booking two rooms for 3 nights (5 days required). Last year I spent 3 days at PBH, and was still a gold member for 2005. This year we have spent 9 days in Loews hotels, and I had been considering staying 6 further days at christmas just to get Platinum (15 days required). When I emailed them to ask, I was informed that I was now a platinum due to my stays in 2004 and 2003.

I have now booked a few days at christmas at HRH and been upgraded to a suite FOC

So I an only presume that once you have 15 qualifying nights you will become a platinum member.

BTW you should get a new card within about 3 weeks of being upgraded.

i guess i should call loews because in the past 4 years i have a total of 28 nights in.

i have been at gold since i forget when, think it was 2 years ago.

i thought it was 15 day stays per calender year.

gee, i learn something new all the time.

I thought it was 15 nights per year as well, so I was amazed when they told me I had been upgraded from Gold.

Perhaps they will downgrade me in January, as I will only be staying 13 nights this year.

I suppose only time will tell.

last year i had 6 stays in june and 7 stays in october and 2 in december at a loew. but, still at gold card level.

I know they only include stays booked at rack rate or AAA rate, so not sure if any of you have booked stays at other rates.
