I have a vacation planned for March 2009. I have it at the seasonal rate which is basically 'flat rate' on a room. I have called Loew's, AAA, and the Universal number to see when the AAA and/or Supersaver (or any other discount rate) will be available. Every single one has given me a different time (of month). What's going on? I've been told beginning of August, end of August, beginning of September, end of September, in 2 months, in December.....the list goes on and on. Everytime I call, it's different. I don't want to call every single day asking for a discount. It's getting a little ridiculous. Advice?

I happen to be going through the SAME thing. I just got off the phone and now I am told "by the end of the month". My husband is in the National Guard. I was told there is sometimes a militarty discount...but no one seems to know what it is??? I am also considering joining AAA, but can't get a confirmation on what that discount will be either.

Not to thread jack....but does anyone know what the rates (with discounts) were this year in March....then maybe we can get an idea!

Thanks!

The rates aren't going to disappear overnight. I thinking calling once every two/three weeks is enough that you're not going to miss anything. I don't believe there has ever been a set time in the past. Some of it seems to depend upon demand. There are better rates when the hotel isn't as booked.

Check through this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1622058 for this year's bookings.

I called and asked about a military/government rate and was told they do not have them there...bummer. As for your discounts I agree with damo.

the loews hotel at universal do not offer the same discounts for various programs as other loews hotels do.

if you go to a different loews /not orlando/ and use code SEN, it might be allowed.
same for the military discount.

We have used military discount in the past. Was a nice amount. We used to be able to get it online by using MIL, but 2 years ago (when we last checked) we had to call for the rate. We found out they only offer the military discount for active duty....not retired (we just retired).

I was able to get the AAA discount as early as Oct 18 last year for my August trip this year. Don't remember when Supersaver was available for the August dates.
