We are planning a 1 day trip to Universal in Feb. We haven't been to Universal in a long time(15+) years. This whole locker thing before rides is completely new to me. Do all/most of the rides require storing your things in lockers before the rides? I read in a guidebook that this can be time consuming. Would it be better to pay for a locker and just leave our things in there all day? How safe are the lockers?:confused3

On certain attractions NO bags of any kind are allowed on.This includes backpacks, purses, crossbody bags and wristlets. They do allow small, 3 prong clasp waistpacks. On the rides that do not allow bags, there are lockers provided to stow belongings for the length of the ride , after that you are charged( the time is calculated based on current waittimes and a little extra).Rides that require belongings stowed are: Rip Ride rocket, Revenge of the Mummy, Men In Black, Hulk, Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge. The lockers arent too terrible at most attractions.Forbidden Journey is where the most waits for lockers are.I dont even bring bags anymore.I use either a small waistpack or cargo shorts.

Thanks for the information. This is what I was looking for. Sounds like the locker thing won't be too bad. I don't ride coasters, so I could hold the bags for most of these rides, or try to find a fanny pack somewhere, they are hard to find these days.:)

I ordered a Kipling and love it! We put a backpack in the front lockers with some drinks and snacks. I have never had any problems. I got the fanny pack after our first visit to avoid the in and out of the lockers.

I bought a waistpack for our trip, but then we ended up getting the refillable Freestyle cup, so we had to use the lockers for all the rides mentioned. It really wasn't a big deal, and with Express Passes we could generally ride 3 times before getting our things out, at which point we'd usually just put them in another locker and ride the same ride 3 more time, heh.

Thanks for all the tips on dealing with the lockers and where to find fanny packs. There is a TJ Maxx down the street from our house so I will definitely look there. We may do the fanny packs for phones and essentials and store the backpack in a locker. I like to be prepared when I go to a park, so the backpack always comes with me. I feel lost without it.;)

Sorry to revive an old thread, but are there usually still waits for lockers at Forbidden Journey? Any lockers required in the new Diagon Alley? I can probably do without a bag, but would rather carry one and use a locker IF it won't require a lot of extra waiting for one to open up - that would be annoying. Thanks!

I think the locker wait at FJ has probably calmed down. You do need to use a locker for Gringotts.
