I have looked at the park maps and it shows 4 sets of lockers 2 exterior, 1 at DL and 1 at CAP and 2 interior, 1 just inside CAP and 1 on Main Street in DL. Since we are going to be there during the busiest week, we are probably not going to leave the park until we are ready to go for the day. From reading here I understand they close the parks when they get to capacity. If we do rent a locker and it's outside the park or in the other park where we are not, is there a possibilty if one of us went to get something from that locker that we could not get back into the park where our family is? Just looking at all options, we thought that the grandparents might walk across the street to rest and leave the others in the park, but that probably is not an option, right? We might not be able to get back in later. Any comments?

ok there is lockers outside the parks.. and inside both DCA and DL. ..they do close the parks when the parks close, ive never heard them closing due to capacity.. never even seen that happen. what ever the time maybe that day...if you leave the park to get to the lockers all you do is get your hand stamped for re-entry!

i would not get a locker inside the oark if you happen to leave for the day and not come back, it's better then to get one outside the park.

Technically yes, if you leave the park when it's closed for capacity you would not be allowed back inside. It is rare that the park closes, but Christmas Day and New Year's Eve are the ones that are historically most likely.

If you do happen to be inside the park when it is closed to those coming in, I would talk with a Cast Member (or a Supervisor if the CM isn't able to help). Explain that you just need to get something from your locker and you want to be sure you'll be let back in. Obviously, no one can guarantee they'll do it....but I would hope that logic and customer service would make this work.

Also keep in mind that LOTS of people are going to want lockers on those very busy days...so go at opening to be sure you get one.

We're here right now and not had problems getting lockers late morning early afternoon when it's gotten too warm to even carry jackets around, but knowing we'll want them after dark. But we've used the outside lockers. There was a thread about crowds this week that talked about having difficulty getting a locker and how crowded the area was for the one near the fruit stand on Main Street. W I can tell you the same day that the other person was complaining about that one, we got a locker at DCA mid day and were the ONLY family inside the room....I didn't even have to hide my password entry, lol, because only the walls were watching. So, it could be that the inside ones are more coveted and therefore more difficult.

Grandpa...when are you planning on going to DLR? I think NYE is the only day that you should really be concerned about. From what I've read on the boards, it gets super crowded in DL and it's almost impossible to move down Main Street in the evening. Other than that, I don't think there's much to worry about. You should be able to access your locker regardless of where they are as long as you have a hand stamp and a valid ticket. If you plan on staying until DL closes, I suggest either getting a locker in DL or outside of DL as DCA closes earlier.

We are getting there early Christmas Day, should be at our hotel by 10:30, plan on going straight to the park. We will be there7 days only 6 at DL.

Well, it wasn't that crazy last Christmas Day (2009). There actually weren't many people at the parks in the morning but the crowds started to pick up by late afternoon. However, it seems like it's a lot more crowded this holiday season so who knows what it's going to be like this year. As the PP mentioned, if DL hits capacity to the point where they won't let anyone reenter, just explain your situation to a CM (I'm sure they'll be able to help you retrieve your stuff). Don't worry and have a wonderful Christmas trip! :santa:

I agree with Sara (Funball). I think your best option is to get a locker outside of the parks. There are two areas outside of the parks to get a locker. One is in the esplanade area just to the left of the Disneyland gates near Guest Assistance and the restrooms that are outside of the park. The other area is inside the picnic area (which isn't readily visible.) Right as you exit security towards DTD, you turn to your right and it looks like you're going to deadend into nothingness. As you take about ten steps further, you'll see a sign that says "Picnic Area". It still looks like there will just be a wall, but a few more steps and you'll see the entrance to a big circular area with lots of tables. There's a whole row of lockers in there that are big enough to even hold a suitcase of the size that can fit in the overcabinet of an airplane (the lockers in the park are quite a bit smaller, the lockers in the esplanade have a few bigger choices, but are still too small for most suitcases). These lockers have in-and-out privledges all day and you would have easy access to them even after both parks close.

In my opinion I would use the ones outside of DCA. As with any day more people head to DL and first thing in the morning before DCA is open people won't be thinking of using those lockers.

Also, I don't know if this would matter to you. Disser mvf-m11c reported that he need a large locker for his tripod. He used the DL lockers and noted that the ones outside that park are larger.
