Just wondering if there are lockers near the Mummy ride like near Hulk, so I can put my camera in there for free right before the ride then pick it up on the way out??

Yes, there are lockers at the Mummy and they are free while you ride. You have to store all items before riding the Mummy.

Thanks for the reply! Do you need to store fanny packs? (waist pouches) Or do they let you ride with those?

You can wear small fanny packs but all backpacks, purses, and bags have to be stored.

Do not rent the lockers at UNIVERSAL. We used the ones at the Mummy I think it was the 5200 number ones. The reader would not read the fingerprint. It was Saturday and the park was packed. I felt really bad for the attendant as he had to open the machine to unlock the door. I stood by while DS/DW took a ride and I watched the attendant open almost every area of the lockers. You can wear a small fanny pack. put your hat through a belt loop and place other things in pants pockets. I would not rent a locker for the rest of the time I was there. We would split up and use the FOTL. This is probably Universals biggest blunder.

There are now huge signs that say "Lockers" on them at ROTM.

Fingerprint scanners rarely have problems. Most of the problems relate to a person pressing too hard on the scanner (very common), or they get a locker that was recently opened and they don't use the scanner at all (fairly common). Occasionally the sun will glare on to the scanners, causing them to read poorly, but that is the least likely.

This is so true, DM. I can't tell you how many times we've been in the locker line at ROTM or MIB behind people who cannot get the scanner to work insisting that it's not reading properly. I'm talking 3 or 4 people in line ahead of us and then we'll FINALLY get to the front of the line only to have no problem whatsoever with it. I guess it just takes a little practice to know how much pressure to exert on the scanner, but it certainly is frustrating to be waiting in the line knowing you could open your locker just fine if you could only get to the scanner station.

I had used the lockers at MIB with no problem. I did see people having problems and thought the people may have been using the scanners wrong. The lockers at the Mummy were definitely out of service. I had "EXPERTS" who used them hundreds of times come over and help. The machine would not work. The attendant also said that the machines were malfunctioning. I would have galdly paid a fee with a non bometric system every time I rode rather than having to wait for an attendant. I'm not a park regular, but from that time on I would not use a locker. And in all honesty if you are a first time user I would be hesitant to use a locker when the park is crowded.

The lockers CAN be the problem - it's not always the user. I had a locker in Feb. that absolutely would not recognize my fingerprint. I am not a clueless techno-phobe. Believe me, I tried every possible method several times to get it to work. The attendant was right next to me, and he agreed it was malfunctioning. He finally opened it for me (can't remember how).

If your fingerprint scan doesn't read properly to lock the locker, it'll ask for a 6 digit code instead. Maybe you might want to try that instead. Just make sure you remember the code!

This is true, but it is less common.
And the Locker Attendant did either one of two things: (1)used his override key to get into the system and unlock your locker. (2)if it still didn't open like that, he used the barrel key, which can open any locker, but the locker doesn't always re-lock afterwards...

The locker area was always packed. Whether it's the lockers or that people are inept, it became really annoying. We had no problems with the scanning but we would have to wait quite a bit at a terminal waiting for people to continuously try to scan their fingerprint with no success.

The lockers nearest the attraction always have a longer line than the set in the middle or the back.

we bought one of those big soviner cups and i couldnt find a locker to rent so i hide it behind a trash can they had there, and when i got off the ride, luckey it was still there lol

Exact same thing happened to DD16 last month. Unfortunately, we had gotten to US early hoping to get some stuff done, but hitting Mummy first proved to be a problem when we couldn't get her stuff out of the locker.

That early in the morning, the attendant didn't have a key. Long story short, it took about 25 minutes of prime early morning time to get the stuff. The attendant indicated that they had problems with the lockers nearly every day and couldn't see that my daughter had done anything wrong when she did her thumbprint.
