Lockers in NYC

Does anyone know of a place you can store a suitcase for the day in NYC? My girls (8 and 11) and I will be flying into LaGuardia and then taking a cab to Grand Central Station where we will meet up with my Brother and his wife. We plan to tour the city for the day then take the Metro North up to Poughkeepsie. Is there a place I can store our suitcase for the day or would I be better off just shipping some stuff up there and just taking a backpack for the day? TIA.

We just got back last week and I'd looked all over online trying to find lockers.
The answer seemed to be no, understandably.

It did suggest checking with a concierge at a hotel, though not sure how successful that would be.

We just carried our stuff in backpacks (we were in NYC for the weekend, but our hotel was in NJ.) I wish I'd just shipped it. You would need to figure a way on the other end to ship back.

I don't know of any place. I do see a lot of people pulling their suitcases all over the city. They probably have similar situations to your's.

Ok I know there used to be a place near Grand Central- let me see if I can find it....

The longest serving luggage storage provider is Schwartz Travel Services, which has two locations:

Their main location, close to Penn Station & Port Authority, is open from 8am until 11pm, 7 days a week:

355 W 36th St.,

(between 8th & 9th Ave.)

... although they claim to offer a 24hr service by arrangement, their 24hr phone number is 212-290-2626.

Their second, "limited location", close to Times Square & Grand Central, is only open from 9am until 6pm, Monday to Friday:

34 W 46th St.,
5F NY, NY 10036
(between 5th & 6th Ave.)

... it should go without saying that you MUST be sure of your times before using the limited location and be absolutely certain that you won't turn up late.


You can walk in to either location but they recommend that you email ahead to reserve your space;
