My local radio station has been playing Christmas Music since Friday 11/13. They are playing it 24/7 until Dec 26.

I have been listening to it but I'm not sure what to think. Does anyone else think it's a little early?

There are only 39 days until Christmas..you can always change the station if you think it's too early..I personally love it. I don't see anything wrong with enjoying the season.

nope, I don't want to change the station. I love Christmas Music. I was just wondering what others thought since it was still 2 weeks away from Thanksgiving.

My family thinks I'm nuts but I really love this time of the year! It goes by too fast as it is.

My husband thinks it's too early and rolls his eyes at me- but to me Thanksgiving and Christmas is one big joyous holiday season! :thumbsup2

Our local one starts it the day after Thanksgiving.

I like to celebrate Thanksgiving 1st, and not lump it in together with Christmas.

I *LOVE* Christmas music but I want to keep it special, if that makes any sense. So, to me, it's too early because if I start listening now, I will be sick of it by then. And yes, I do get sick of things when I OD on them.

I really would like to go back to the time where the music started about a week prior to Christmas. IMO, it made that time so much more Christmas-like. These days, by the time the holiday does roll around, I'm burnt out.

I agree with you Christine. I really wish they would at least wait until after Thanksgiving to start it, it tends to lose that specialness to me when I am hit full-blast with all the Christmas stuff so soon. The mall I work at even has Santa already.

a station here is changing formats in 2010 and on Friday started playing Christmas music the rest of the year.

They had the Christmas Decorations up before the Halloween decorations were down. Seriously its too much and too overwhelming. Can't we enjoy each holiday BEFORE we have to start worrying about the others?!

I love Christmas music but can't it wait till the day after Thanksgiving? Too much too soon and then people get sick and tired of it. I agree with a PP why can't it be special? Why does it have to be overload? Then I don't enjoy it and it becomes something else that I don't enjoy.

What drove me over the edge was last week I was driving down our main road in town and someone already had their Christmas tree up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry but THAT is just crazy!

We have had some nice weather days so putting up your outside lights for Christmas...okay I can understand that but a Tree already. I'd rather it be Jan. 01 2010.

It is a little early but I do not mind it on Thanksgiving it is the begining of the holiday season and you are going to hear it everywhere that Friday so might as well start 24 hours earlier plus we are usually in Disney on thanksgiving eve the first thing I do is scope out the station that plays holiday music in the rental car!

I hear you my neighbor has up a countdown to Christmas!!!! I see towns decorated and even churches putting up Nativity scenes!!!!
Yesterday I was driving in my convertible!!! Christmas and top down in North Jersey does not go well all of this rushing gets my equilibrium off

My one complaint about the 24/7 Christmas music is.....some stations stop playing the music after 2pm ON CHRISTMAS DAY!! Heck, that's the day when you want to hear it the most!!!

I love Christmas music and have already started listening to it. We have a local station that has been playing it for about 2 weeks now. :santa:

We also put up our outside decorations over the weekend. The temps were in the 60's so we took advantage of the nice weather. We will not turn them on however until Thanksgiving weekend.

what station is that?

I know in DC it was 94.7 or one of them in that area which played it.

Now i am down here and love to find one that plays Christmas music

already enjoying the cable tv radio/ music channel which plays Christmas music.

I'm loving it! I was so thrilled to find out the Chicago station had started. Between that and the Christmas movies on cable, I'm in holiday heaven!

The Christmas season is so short. If you wait until after Thanksgiving you only get 3-4 weeks to enjoy it. I have no problem starting earlier.

I also have no real attachment to Thanksgiving--to me it's just an annoying blip on the way to Christmas. I try to work on gratitude all year round, so all I get from Thansgiving is a sink full of dishes and heartburn.

I think it is too early. I wait until at least the day after Thanksgiving to start with Christmas. Except for shopping, I do that year round. And the outside lights - they are up pretty much year round.

Sirius/XM have started as of today. Our local radio station won't start playing Christmas music until the day before Thanksgiving (I believe, since they did that last year).

We have stations that started 11/1/09.
