Lobster Nachos???

Cove Bar, upstairs from Ariel's Grotto, in DCA.

Cove Bar isn't open all the time, so if you walk by and a CM is in there but it's not open, ask when they'll open up for the day.

In case you want to know, kids are allowed in there, but not sitting *at* the bar...but the low tables and chairs are fine.

mm lobster nachos.. i get them with chicken instead.. it's very good that way!:)

the tri tip sliders are very good too!

Lobster Nachos :thumbsup2

The Cove Bar is a very nice place to sit and relax. They serve ice water in glass glasses (and of course adult beverages) and they serve their food on real plates as opposed to plastic. It is a nice change from counter service. We love to sit up at the tables in the shade and rest our feet and watch the people and the water. :cloud9:

Wow, those look really good. Thanks for all the replies, I am definately going to try those next trip.

Ugh! Lobster Nachos sound horrible!

Sounds like hot sauce on icecream or pickles in your jello. They just dont sound like they go together.

My wife and I always like to try new things each time we visit Disneyland. During our last trip we visited the Blue Bayou, which totally rocked. Since I am a Pirates maniac, it was like heaven to eat dinner inside POTC. I just might try the Lobster Nachoes in December.....175 MORE DAYS!!!:cool1:

as i have already said they are really good, the photo doesn't do justice, they are super yummy! and it can feed two people easily, it's like a meal. but i get them with chicken , cause my first time i had them i thought they were WAY salty. but then i figured it was just me, and i don't mean to scare anyone, they are really good.. well and so i found out that the chips thy used that day were extra salty--yep knew it just my luck, it was me not the lobster nachos!;) BUt ever since i got them with chicken insatead of lobster,i havn't gone back to the lobster..lol, and the nachos are like i think 10 dollars? i could be wrong

anyhow it's a dish you do not want to miss.

also try the tri-tip sliders!! and umm kids are allowed at the tables at COVE bar, but not the bar stools! just to let all you parents know!! lol.

that must be a old menu. the new menu does not have crab cakes anymore they added new things and took somethings out. the two new things now are the mini ahai fish tacos(soo yummy!) and the tri-tip sliders...

but the lobster nachos price is the same... :)

i have rounded up a OLD photo of the Cove Bar for everyone! notice the orange stinger in the background! :)

They are really good! We get them almost every time we go to DLR! Even if you don't want the nachos, the Cove Bar is a great place as others have said. It's usually pretty quiet and laid back. I don't think I have ever been there when all the seats were filled.
In fact, we just went there last Thursday with friends who are APs and go the parks often and they said they had never noticed it before. It's a hidden treasure!

Hmmm, maybe I shoulda kept my mouth shut...:goodvibes

Maybe my order was improperly prepared but I didn't care for the lobster nachos. The chips were about double the thickness of regular tortilla chips which made for an odd base. And the cheese wasn't thoroughly melted. The center was just a cold lump, yet the edges of the outer chips were slightly charred, indicating that the dish had spent significant time in the oven. I was disappointed. I'm a nacho snob, tho, so I'm a tough critic.

The BBQ chicken pizza, on the other hand, was excellent. I recommend it without reservation.

Just in case you thought I was saying something different, I wasn't...DS has enjoyed two visits to the Cove Bar with us, though he snoozed through the first visit, LOL.
