We'll be dining at Yachtsman in a few weeks and I'm debating the lobster bisque as an appy, but am on the fence. I enjoy seafood but lobster is not my favorite by far. I eat it, but I never order it (if that makes sense). However, I've heard a lot of people around here rave about the lobster bisque and none of the other apps really appeal to me overly much.

So if you've had the lobster bisque, how lobstery is it? Anything you would compare it to?

The lobster bisque at YSH is to die for. You must get it.

My DH LOVES:love: the lobster bisque he also loves lobster.
Now I love lobster but don't love the soup it o.k. to me.( love the caesar salad there though) so I think it is a very creamy texture not so much chunky if that helps.

Sometimes I'm put off by lobster because I find its meat to be rather sweet. The brandy and crème fraiche assure that it's not the case in this bisque, however. Beware if you dislike brandy — the alcohol has a definite presence. It's also a very large serving. We ate at the Yachtsman last January and two in our party split a bowl and still didn't finish it.

Very rich creamy soup, it's delicious. As Brook said, there are no large chunks of lobster, more like a few shreds. I never noticed the brandy in it, so I guess if you are sensitive to the taste of alcohol you would notice it. This is not a problem for me;)

Good to hear. Thanks, everyone. I think I'll give it a whirl. I don't drink but don't mind alcohol in my food/sauces. But I love a good bisque and they aren't available everywhere, so why not? :)
