Loading GC onto KTTW card?

I am planning on paying for everything with GCs this trip so I will have quite a few with me. I know that instead of carrying them around with me, I could just charge things on my KTTW card and pay off the balance each day with GCs, but I don't like to tie my CC to my card, and I also don't want to have to worry about remembering to go down and do it.
Is it possible to load GCs onto the KTTW card when you check into the resort?

I am not sure about putting it on your KTTW, but you should be able to put it on your account at check in just like cash. There may be an amount limit, but unless you spend a ton each day, you shouldn't have to go to Guest Services every day.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize you could load cash onto your account. If I could do that with GCs that would definitely work, even if there is a limit. I will always have my debit card on me so I wont be relying solely on the GCs for spending money.

Once you get checked in at resort the CM can add the GC to your Account/kttw. I would still keep cards until you have spent everything and know you will not need for refunds.

Our experience has been that we have not had an option but to tie a CC to our keys if we want them to have charging privileges. I then go down every 3 or so days and pay the balance off with our gift cards. We have done this our last 4-5 trips and so far the CC has been required for us.

I don't plan on tying my CC to my KTTW card, do you mean you had to whether or not you planned on using charging privileges, or that if you want charging privs, you can only put a CC on and not a GC.

You don't have to tie a CC to your KTTW card if you don't want charging privileges, but our experience is that a GC cannot be 'tied' to your KTTW card, they have always required a CC. But the charges do not post immediately to the CC in our experience either. So every 3 nights or so I go down with our GCs and pay our outstanding balance from our KTTW card charges. So nothing is ever really actually charged to our CC unless we charge so much we go over the limit ($1500) before I go down and pay off the balance with our GCs. And in that case they just credit back my CC and use the GCs. But they have always required a CC even though I tell them I will be paying the charges with GCs. Does that make sense?

Yes, thank you. I was trying to avoid having to go down every day or couple of days so if I can add GCs like cash to my account that would work better. If not I'll just do what you did and at least I wont have to carry around stacks of GCs all day.

Going down to pay it off isn't the most convenient thing to do, but I figure it is easier than carrying around stacks of cards, pay for meals with multiple GCs, and trying to keep track of balances, etc. Maybe at some point disney will find a way to make a KTTW card more like a debit card if you want it to be so you could do the gift card thing, but up until now we have had to do it the roundabout way.
