LLMP/LLSP booking strategy?

I tried searching and couldn't find if this was discussed elsewhere. My daughter and I are eligible to book our LLMP for our trip May 5-9 tomorrow morning. I had a few questions. We are linked and all set up in MDE.

1. Can I book one day LLMP and my daughter book another day LLLP? We are going to attempt to book Tianas on 5/6 and Slinky on 5/8?

2. How hard is it to get LLMP selections at AK? I was thinking we should try to book our HS day and MK day first and then whoever is finished with that one do AK next.

3. Do you think it is better to buy the LLMP for your trip and then go back and buy LLSP? I saw you could do it in the same transaction, but aside from our main MK day, we are buying LLSP at other parks and worry that the extra time finding those will cause us to lose our 3 LLMP selection times.

4. If Tianas is not available on 5/6, we have an alternate MK day on 5/9. Should we try for Peter Pan's flight or a different Tier 1 ride in MK?

Thank you! We are trying to work on the best strategy to get all the rides we can tomorrow.

Others can chime in on if it's a good idea to have 2 people try for booking. I would be afraid of it causing some sort of error. Im sure someone more knowledgable than me will help.

I booked for a trip over Easter week and got everything I wanted, it was really easy even while half asleep. I used the strategy of booking AK last. I booked HS, then Epcot, then MK, then AK. I also purchased my LLSP at this time. I booked every LLSP except Rise. I saw LLSP sell out before the Tier 1 rides when checking back later that day and the following day.

You can definitely divide up booking like that - each of you take specific dates. Many people here have done so, including DD and I. You must have separate MDE accounts, though; this doesn't work if you're trying to both log into the same MDE account!

Sorry I can't help with the other strategies!

I booked my LLs this morning for 5/4-14 and had no problem, everything was available. Historically I’ve found that Slinky is one of the first to sell out so you might focus on that one first.

Booked my LLMP and LLSP for 5/4-5/9 this morning right at 7 ET. Agree with the prior poster in booking Slinky first even though we planned to visit that park later in week. Think we got a 1:30 pm return time. I would recommend buying a parks multi pass and single pass in the same transaction, much more efficient and I didn't realize I could do this at first so set me back a bit by purchasing them separately for two park days. You may get earlier times if you split the days between two people booking at the same time. None of my purchases for Single or Multi had returns later than 1:30pm (I tried for earlier times). Hoping the crowds are reasonable, they are not supposed to be super high. We haven't bought LLMP for AK in the past, just LLSP for avatar. Didn't feel we needed it for this park. Am actually holding off on buying any for the park as we have EEH for Monday. FYI if you are buying both LLMP and LLSP in the same transaction, I believe they will hold the times for 4 minutes before timing out, just keep an eye on the timer. I did time out once not realizing the timer was there.

Is it better to book what they offer you and then modify times later or should I try to edit times before booking? My booking day is coming up and it’s me and a toddler so we are mostly focusing on magic kingdom and kid rides.

I would try to edit the times when booking. Though I don’t know for sure, I read that you risk losing the LL if you try to modify before entering the park, though once in the park you can modify as much as possible.

We booked all of our rides yesterday. My daughter and I both booked days from our separate account. We got all the rides we wanted, but some were not at the optimal times. We tried modifying a few times yesterday, but all the times were later than what we got. We aren't unhappy with our times except on our Magic Kingdom day, we were hoping for a ride close to 9 AM, but our first one is at 10:15. We got slinky dog pretty late in the day on our 4th day, but we got it. When we tried modifying and it offered us a later time, we just hit the go back button and kept what we had. Good luck!

Thanks for updating! Try modifying again at 7am the day of, because Disney has been releasing additional inventory around then.

Yes that's why your selections are held for 5 minutes during the purchase process. This allows you to make adjustments.

Glad you get your days booked. If you are trying to modify your times after you completed you purchase the options will always be later in the day. The LL tool only wants to add new or modified LL selections after all your other LL selection return times. What is your 10:15 LL? If it was your tier 1 or popular tier 2 that may just have been when that attraction's next return window was available.

As @kylenne posted you can start trying to change your times at 7 AM on your park day. The system is more flexible, and as a reminder to check any items you might have added to your "My Day" as they will block your time window just like dinning plans.
