We have a LL bean Jacket that has been passed down from one child to the next. It is in great condition except this AM the zipper pull broke off. Sometimes I can fix jackets that break like this with an unused key loop (the circle you put the keys on with a key chain) or a binder clip ( I also use these with my tour plans on index cards -punch a hole and put the clip on it I don't know the proper name for this thing). Anyway the point is I can't fix this jacket that way. I used the Live chat on LL Bean site and basically I wasn't given the info to return the jacket back for repair as it isn't new (as in this year.) Like I said this jacket is in great condition and all it needs is the zipper part fixed. They do have the 100% gaurantee which is valid anytime after purchase. I'd like to send it to LL Bean for their repair service. I am not looking for a free replacement just to get the zipper fixed. I've had jackets f rom Walmart that have lasted through all 4 kids so I really do feel the Bean Jacket should have been able to last too. Should I just pack it up with a letter explaining I would like to have it repaired with my contact info? Do you think it would get fixed I hate to toss it just because of this little part that it broken. I might add I am not a seamstress by any stretch so I can't replace a zipper.
