LL Bean hanging toiletry thingy

I have the medium one, and it is really a pretty good size for me. I can fit all my makeup inside as well as the toiletries.

Having said that, it's not really big enough to put full-size shampoo, hair dryer, and flat iron inside. I usually just pack them separately.

I am looking for something that I can put full-size bottles and my hair curling thingys in. That leaves me with the huge one. ARGH!

Those of you with the large one taking full size bottles with you, I am assuming then that you are checking this bag as you can't take more then bottles of 3oz with you now. Do you find that it is coming through baggage ok then?
I have the large one for when we do car trips but was wondering how it air travels.

Tina, it comes in other colors also. I have such a terrible totebag/purse/toiletry bag thingy addiction. :upsidedow Just go to llbean.com and check them out!

I'm another who has an addiction to bags of all kinds. :sad2: Backpacks, fanny packs, messenger bags, duffle bags, tote bags, toiletry bags....... :sad2:

I have the large, in a really pretty pink color that I don't think they make anymore (which sucks, because I'd have liked to have snagged a small, too, for shorter trips). I absolutely love it!

ETA: I've checked mine for a few plane trips to WDW and it's come through just fine, with no damage to/shifting of the contents at all.

DH and I each have a large, our DD has a medium.

We love them, and prefer the individual ones, instead of the family sized one. It keeps our bathroom much more organized when we travel as a family.

We have two large LL Bean ones and we love them. When we travel by plane we put them into a small suitcase and check it. We then add other odds and ends in there. I like to put everything in one suitcase, away from the clothes. Been using them for a number of years now, I bought them for my family when they first came out. They are very durable (as most LL things are) and I love how they can hang up in hotel rooms and on cruises. Well worth it IMHO.

Thanks for answering my question on air travel. I love all things llbean and what makes that even more dangerous is that we are only about 50 min from them, and go that way OFTEN!!!!:scared1:
I think that I will get 2 other sizes as well, as we are cruising for the first time in dec and they will help with cabin size.

I've got two...one medium, (a turquoise one that a friend sent as a gift).. I loved it, but with my contact lens saline bottle and my body wash, and shampoo, makeup, etc, it was getting crowded; PLUS, when I saw the tropical print I thought that a good enough reason to get the large one for myself!
Now, I keep the medium one ready with the "general" stuff, neosporin, bandaids, tweezers, nuprin, benedryl, extra toothbrushes & toothpaste, etc; all the stuff that DH or DD may also need and everyone knows where it is. It's ready to go wherever we go.

These look great. I've been eyeing these kinds of bags. I saw a really nice set on QVC a few weeks ago but didn't order. What is the price range of these? I am too lazy and tired to go look it up on their site right now

I haven't had any issues - I pack it full and stuff it in a suitcase - in the event that something leaks as things can on airplanes the bag itself is water proof or something so that nothing will leak out of it. Mine has been on several airplane flights without incident.

Do you just tightened lids or put in a plastic bag? I have looked into this a few times, I need to just buy :rotfl: :rotfl: Never knew what size I wanted . . . .

Thanks for the info everyone, I may get the large :goodvibes

Our cruise last year is what prompted me into getting a hanging thingy. We took a clear hanging shoe thingy and hung it in our cabin bathroom. It worked great for all of our toiletries! We had no clutter in the small bathrooms.

When I got the bag I also got a set of the travel bottles from LL Bean and have never had an issue with them leaking. The bottles are guaranteed to not leak even on the space shuttle or something along those lines. I think the asst. set of bottles was around $10

When I do quick trips I usually just take full size bottles and make sure the lids are on tight - sometimes I throw them in a plastic bag depending on how good of a seal I think it has. It really depends on the product packaging.

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I've been on the fence for awhile trying to decide whether or not to buy one or not. I couldn't decide on which size to get. So the medium is good for one person but it doesn't hold full size shampoo bottles? If that is the case, is a large to big for one person? Would it be too big for a teenager? She would need to put her hair straightener in it.

Susan, I thought I was the only one. Now I have my daughter wanting one. :thumbsup2

I just gave mine its first workout in NYC this week. My oh my we had a teeny weeny hotel room. This was a lifesaver. Hung it on the back of the door and had all my crap at my fingertips without taking up one inch of precious space elsewhere.

Mine is a large. I bought my sister in law a medium for Christmas and realized it was far too small for everything I wanted it for. For me, it has to hold pretty much everything to be useful. IMO, for a family, you need either the large or the family size.

I have the ginormous family sized one (in an older model from about 6 years ago) and if it's just me I can practically pack an entire weekend worth of clothes and toiletries in the thing! :lmao:

I do have a small hanging bag for times when I don't want the big honker, but I like packing tons of stuff into that toiletry bag and then packing it in my suitcase. I often wrap my shoes in plastic grocery bags and tuck them into the LLBean bag along with all my hair accessories, jewelry, medicines, etc. My bag came with a separate hanging mesh pocket to use in the shower and I just love that - keeps all my stuff together so I don't forget anything.

I've even converted DH - he got a small one for his stuff, too! (or else he stows his stuff in with mine in the big Family sized one.)

Ok...now I'm hooked. I want a hanging thingy too!!

I live close to an LL Bean store (which happens to be at the same mall as a Disney store!! :cool1: ) so I'll see if they carry it before I order one online.

:rotfl: I already know that I'm buying two, just which two is the problem. I better get on the stick though. We've got a band trip the end of April.
