LL Bean hanging toiletry thingy

I have the family size one, just for me. ;) I like to travel with full size bottles, and this also holds my make-up case and blow dryer. I like it because I can take lots of items that I "may" need, and they are all in one place. I purchased mine from the LLBEAN outlet, it has someone elses monogram on it so I got it for half price. :)

Now you all are costing me money.

But you have given me a great idea, so it's okay! :thumbsup2

I just ordered three of these for my adult children and one for my teenage dgs. We all going on a Disney cruise next February. I'm going to give each of them one for Christmas and fill it with things they'll need plus some Disney dollars. Thank you for giving me the idea!

By the way, I found a free shipping code and it worked so if anyone needs it, PM me. Unless I'm allowed to post it here? Anyone know?

Go ahead and post it :) IT's not against board guidelines. We do it constantly LOL

Okay, here it is:

This coupon code is a little tricky, so make sure you read this carefully. After adding items to your cart, click "Check out now", then sign in or register. This will then bring you to the "Place Your Order" page where you'll need to click on the "Redeem Coupon, Gift Cards, or Promotions." Click on "Promotions" and not "Coupons". Enter promotional code here. This is a big saver since each item is usually $4.95 to ship. Enjoy!

What size did you get them? And thanks for the code!

I've had the family size bag for years and love, love, love it. It holds so much and it's so nice to hang it up once we get to a hotel. I actually keep mine packed with doubles of everything but my makeup case so when we travel all I have to do is throw my makeup in and I'm ready to go.

Can I ask you guys something?
I think I missed it but, does this LL Bean thingy hook over the door?
Can you still close the door if it's hanging on it?
Thanks!

When I got the bag I also got a set of the travel bottles from LL Bean and have never had an issue with them leaking. The bottles are guaranteed to not leak even on the space shuttle or something along those lines. I think the asst. set of bottles was around $10

When I do quick trips I usually just take full size bottles and make sure the lids are on tight - sometimes I throw them in a plastic bag depending on how good of a seal I think it has. It really depends on the product packaging.

thanks for the info :)

I hook mine on the door but I hook it on the knob. I just have to pull it to the side to shut the door. When I hang it on my door at home it slides lightly on the floor to give you an idea of how long it is. I also hook it on the towel bars at hotels and haven't pulled one off yet.

It won't hook over the top of the door, if that's what you're asking. The hook on it is better suited for a towel hook/bar sort of thing. I used to bring a metal hook thing that fit over the top of a door with me. I found it at Target - it has one part that fits over the door, and then a hook with places to hold a couple hangers . I used to hang my LL Bean bag off that in the bathroom if there wasn't a suitable hanging space already.

Only problem for me is I'm really short (under 5'), so my bag was usually hanging too far off the ground to be useful for me! :rotfl: These days I stick to the towel bars or the shower rod (if it's bolted to the walls and is NOT a tension rod).

Will it work to hang this LL Bean thingy on the clothing rod in the closet area?

Bethany, if I get the ginormous one will my DH think that I lost my mind...again?

:rolleyes1 Well, are you usually a big overpacker? (I prefer to think of it as "being prepared" myself. ;) ) I have to say that it's awfully big for one person, unless you bring full-size stuff, a hair drier, a curling iron, etc. With two people who don't bring lots of extras, it's still a little big for your standard week-long vacation.

It works well for us because I usually pack my flip-flops in mine, plus I tend to travel with a miniature pharmacy and I have "oceans and oceans of lotions and potions" according to DH. What can I say? I have sensitive skin...needs all that to keep me nice and soft and rash-free...

Anyway, when it's stuffed full it does literally take up 1/2 of my small wheel-aboard suitcase. However, as I pointed out to DH, our two separate small toiletry bags plus the other stuff I throw in the family size bag takes up about the same amount of space, just spread out through both our suitcases instead of gathered into one. (if that makes sense...)

So....I don't know if your DH will think you're crazy...mine alternates between being impressed with my organizational systems and thinking I'm a crazy bag lady with WAY too many bags! :rotfl:
