I just read the following on Allearsnet, and was wondering if you think that this will really happen on the ride "Living with the Land", and if so, what do you think about it? I know that it would make sense financially, but I kind of like having a "live" person on the boat.

Living with the Land boat ride will be closed for refurbishment August 20, through September 16. Unconfirmed information is that a pre-recorded narration will be added to the boat ride eliminating the need for a Cast Member on each boat.

I certainly hope this is untrue! Our guide last time made jokes and was very entertaining and knowledgeable. A recording isn't personal.

Plus, DS has lots of questions. How do you ask a recording questions?
That's a good point. And there are sometimes unrelated things that the guide will bring up. We have also found that the tour is a little different each time, showing different things. A recording can't say: "look right now and see this."

The cast members I've had the last two times on this ride were either inaudible or forgot their lines. I still miss the original song on this ride.

We had a great CM on our ride last time. She really was a lot of fun. DS(5 at the time) really enjoyed her jokes.

I don't see this happening as guest have a lot of questions when on this ride. It is very interesting and it changes by season as to what is going on. Everytime I have been on it there was something different.
