Sarah I can help once I get home and pm you some of my pics of the LS VIP. we are having our custom reception there in July and maybe I am biased but I love it. Here are the reasons to help you:
1. Needs very little if any decorations. We are only decporating with simple thigns on the tables. it needs nothing else and it saves some money. You can change the tables cloth if you don't like the colors but that gets pricey. We were lucky our colors (blue ) matched.
**This is the only downfall really for some brides: the colors are deep blues and greens. So if you want a pretty pink and pastel wedding recpetion this is not necessarily the place for you. Still very lovely. But consider this**
2. You get the benefits and excitement of having an in-park reception/.event with little extra fees. We loved the idea of beign in EPCOT and going right over to our DP. Because it is not a ride you can have your reception for lunch or dinner there.
3. The view: not many people can say they has their wedding reception with a view of a giant aquarium. it is something different and really is a conversation piece.
There are a million other reasons for us personally, but these are the major ones. HTH and I will pm you more pics tonight.
If you don't mind, Luvndisney, I'd love to see some of your pictures of the Living Seas VIP room also. I'm considering having my reception there in December of 2007, and just love the idea of having the reception there with the aquarium!
OK i am going to try my best to post the pictures that I have. I would like to note however that when I was looking for a reception site I had pratically ruled out the living seas becuase I thought it was too dark. Every picutre I had seen was dark. However I loved it so much when i saw it in person I KNEW it was where my reception would be held!
Those are great pics. I agree. I thought it would be too dark but we love the whole aquarium idea. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was for us. It's beautiful, doesn't need many decorations, just wonderful all around the perfect size! I love the tablecloths in this pic. When we were there, the blue was the underlayer and there was a beautiful green on top, however, the green doesn't go with any of our colors... it's a bit too bright. I really like the way it looks with the white over the blue. We can put some red rose petals and votives or floating candles in a bowl on the tables. We are getting married on 12/11/06. I can't wait!!! Only a little over 8 months to go. If you need any more pics, PM me - I'm not able to post pics.
the customary linens for the Ls are blue with the bright green overlay. However you have an option to change to white overlays at no extra charge. Thats what we are doing and our centerpieces are glass bowls filled with water and floatng candles - blue and green seaglass at the base. plus flower petals and candles around the tables.
I can't wait to see it in 4 more months!
**the issue with the Ls is that is regular camera shots - not professional ones - the images are usually very dark no matter what. That throws some people off. But in person it is not that dark and with candles used to accent tables it becomes brighter.**
You can also have the lights brighter if you wish, they are on a dimmer switch. This was our main concern before we went to see it, but as soon as we walked in we knew this was the place. No pictures can do this place justice.
