I have been trying to find info for purchasing these tickets and cannot seem to find any hard facts. There are lots of rumors I have read. Has anyone done this recently that can provide some details?

I am looking at this option because I want to take some photos using a tripod and have had bad luck in WDW and DLR with staking out my spot for hours and then having someone stand right in front of me with a kid on their shoulders, or have parents shove their kids around my tripod at the last minute. Hardly worth standing in my spot for two hours when it is taken over by others anyway. Therefore I am happy to pay for my spot and save the hassle.

It no longer exists this option and afaik there isn't any plan to bring it back or a similar service
