Live Trip Report - Villas at Wilderness Lodge

...sigh... another 5 months for us... LOVE VWL!
I bought BWV on 2000 and then put down payment the first week VWL went on sale.
Have a blast!!! :)

Thanks for a great report and wonderful pictures!! WL was our most favorite Deluxe Resort to stay at before we purchased DVC. Now, with DVC it's even better. Nice to hear you had a great time, hope everyone is feeling well.

Thanks for posting and the pictures. We own at SSR but would love to try VWL one day soon! It is beautiful!

Thanks for the report and pictures :thumbsup2 Can't wait,29 more days until our visit stay at VWL

Loved all the pics.:) Our trip can't come soon enough. Sorry that you and DS didn't feel well. Hope it didn't take away too much from your trip. Too bad about CRT not being character at dinner. Sounds like your DD is a trooper. We have a breakfast ressie for our trip. First time for that as well.

Oh no! Not any fun being sick at Disney.
When my daughter was six she came down with chicken pox the first day!
Lots of room service for the two of us. DH, DS and DNiece told us all about the parks and pool.
Hope your plane ride home wasn't too brutal on the ears.

Deb

We were there at the same time (8-10 to 8-15) in room 3523. We probably crossed paths.

Thanks for the great trip report.... My DW, DS (6) and I love VWL. We started visiting Disney about 3 years ago and stayed at WL and fell in love with it. It was the reason we joined DVC.
We were there in late June and it just can't be beat. We love the laid-back atmosphere of the lodge better then the other DVC resorts.

Buckeye Fan... We and not that far from you... We live in Bellefontaine, OH about 50 minutes away. My Dad lives in Worthington (right next door)...

DW and I both graduated The Ohio State University and I work in Dublin.

It is a Small World :rotfl:

How wild! I bought the puppy in my avitar in Degraff! I'm from Lima, originally.

Buckeyefan, you are making me want to buy points there! I know when we see it, we will want to purchase. Which resort points did you use for your ressie?

We used our SSR points. I called in March (at SSR for spring break) to make reservations for Aug 9 - 14. When I called, for a 1-BR, I could have made a reservation anywhere except AKV. Glad we stayed at VWL!!! :cloud9:

Loved all your pics- so sorry you were sick on vacation!! I was sick on last November's trip- it makes a Disney trip just a bit more challenging!!:sad2: Thanks for all the details-:thumbsup2

Thanks for the pics.....they are awesome:goodvibes

Boy those balconies ARE small:eek: Sheesh.....nothing like saying hello to your neighbors....not even a privacy wall:scared1:

Did you notice lots of people sitting on their balconies?
Thanks
kerri

When I called 8 weeks out for Labor Day, a 2bedroom was available but we won't need a room that big very often so I was curious about the 1 bedroom availability. That is good to know. Maybe I can wait a while before adding those points so DH won't kill me! WL is our choice when staying at WDW - we have never stayed in the villas though, only the hotel, so we are really pumped! I have showed the entire family your pics.

We were in room 3523 and the only other balconies in our area were either above or below us. There were no balconies on either side. We sat out a lot even though it was rather small. I think the people above us were sitting out as well because we could smell smoke.

nice report:thumbsup2 sorry for the bumps in the road though

i've never seen another person out on the balconies @ WLV when i'm enjoying my morning cup of java (i have smelled smoke though, meandering up from a lower floor:rolleyes: )

Thanks......I hope I get a room like that...or the private balconies....I sit out a lot.....and I would hate to be looking at my neighbor THAT close.

WOW! We must have really lucked out with our balcony because it was not nearly that small. Sure hope we get another "big" one next time! :thumbsup2

OP - Thanks again for the wonderful trip report and pictures!

Thanks for the wonderful trip report. We really would like to try VWL some day and your report made it sound great.

I go out on the balconies (so does DH, just at different times) and generally, not a soul was out there! DH did talk with a lady one morning out on a balcony a couple of doors down, but I think it was only one morning. In all the times I was out there, I didn't see a single person, and the resort was full (per MS)!!!

In all of our visits, I've never smelled smoke (inside or outside), but I did this trip. It was obvious that someone was either smoking in his/her room or out in the hallway.

Glad everyone enjoyed the pics!!! For those traveling soon, have a safe and WONDERFUL trip!!!:goodvibes
