Hi All ~ I'm relaxing in our room at the POP finishing my tea before my glass of wine and thought THIS is a great time to start my LIVE trip report.

Day One ~ We stayed at the Days Inn Hotel in Buffalo last night because of our SW flight 6:50am. It's a no-frills hotel, but comfy. Only $109US for fly and park. My car is vacationing in Buffalo while we enjoy Florida.

Easy flight, on time. DH sat next to Darryl Sittler which really impressed the guy behind me. I kept tessing the hockey great by cheerfully calling him "Darryl Sittler!!!!" every time I chatted with him.

Awesomely hot and sunny on arrival! We picked up our Alamo car and headed to Shoney's for brunch then to POP to check in.

Arrived at he POP around noon and our room was ready. I checked-in online so everything was ready for us!

My kids asked to stay someplace with 70's music so we are in Bldg 7, ground floor as requested! We requested a fridge and cot and both fit the room perfectly. We just moved the table and chairs to the other side of the entertainment unit.

We spent the afternoon swimming and loving the heat. It's not that bad at all. Rains on and off....usual July. We did a little grocery shopping at Goodings.

Kids asked for Cici's [iffy] for dinner. The salad is okay, but I only eat one piece of pizza. I like the cinnamon dessert.

We walked around the Boardwalk at 8pm-ish, took the boat ride around the lake, sat on the Beach Club beach as ds built a sand castle, watched Illuminations and a bit the of Chicken Little playing on the outdoor movie screen on the beach. I love not hustling to parks. It's so nice to have a relaxing Disney vacation!

Day Two ~ Started as a rainy day so we decided to do a little resort hopping. We drove to Wilderness Lodge, walked about a little and then took the boat to MK to take the monorail to Contemporary Resort and Grand Floridian. The rain stopped while we were on the boat. It was nice re-visiting these hotels. They are lovely.

An afternoon of rest and swimming and then off to Downtown Disney for a little shopping. I took loads of pictures in the Christmas Shop because I'm planning to make Cmas ornaments with them. We took the boat to Saratoga...it's the only resort we haven't seen yet. So pretty!

It was a lovely day!

Day Three ~ The weather wasn't supposed to be great in the afternoon so we went to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning. Turned out to be a gorgeous day to go! So beautiful! HOT but not too humid. We went to Sweet Tomatoes for a late lunch and then everyone took an afternoon nap.

We woke at 4pm-ish and decided to visit Give Kids The World and the Kissimmee Walmart for a few extra groceries.

We had dinner in the room and now we are resting for the evening.

Tomorrow we plan to visit Blizzard Beach and more resting.

We'll do the parks on Sunday or Monday....probably Sunday as I want to visit Disney's Wilderness Preserve and it's only open during the week, so we'll likely do that on Monday. Tuesday is rest time at the resort and maybe a little putzing around before heading home Wednesday.

It's nice to rest!

Until next time! Ciao!

WOW!! Parks only on Sunday - you're kids are great!! I don't think myself or DS could only do parks for one day!!

Glad you are having such a nice vacation :goodvibes

We did MAJOR parks in March with my sister and her family. Although that was a great vacation, it wasn't relaxing and I missed the Disney 'extras'. So with our SW credit, we decided to return for another 2009 trip just to rest, sleep in and putz around instead of running to the parks.

I really want to see Disney's Wilderness Preserve, about 30 miles south of WDW. We'll do that on Monday.

Right now we are all laying around the room, drinking coffee, chatting. The sun is shining...it's going to be awesome today. So we'll head of Blizzard Beach sometime this morning then relax the rest of the day. Truly a restful trip!

Blessings, Sandra

Hopefully, one day I will have been to Disney enough to just go and relax!! LOL I think that will take quite awhile unfortunately. :rotfl:

For now this will be on my disney trips :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I looked at your other pics, they are great, I have a few on my site as well, by far not all of them yet.

Sounds like its starting off perfectly. We only always do 2 days at the parks during our trips and take advantage off pool hopping and our resort of our stay as DVC members! Enjoy the rest of your stay.... :)

This is a bonus trip, so one park day is fine with us. I purchased 10 day hopper plusses that don't expire. We used 3 park days in March 2009. 1 this trip so we have 6 park days and 6 water park days [I am using really old water park plusses for this trip]. Our 6 park and 6 water park days left over will cover two more trips...probably 2011 or 2012 before we'll need to purchase more tickets.

I'm thinking about a Sedona trip in a couple of years to satisfy the witchy part of me!

Blessings, Sandra

My Dh and I just came back from 3 nights at the Dolphin for similar reasons...we had SW credit and we are taking to kids in 5 weeks for full on Disney. Although it was tempting to buy a ticket, we didn't do one park. We shopped, walked the Boardwalk, DTD...just relaxed. There is so many thing to do besides parks and we had a very nice, relaxing 3 days. Glad you are enjoying yourselves!
