Live from WDW, its the Nicki and Todd show..and RAIN!!!!

same here -- can see the older Boma pics (from your earlier trip) but not the newer ones, and I could see them yesterday.

Ok let me get the photobucket pro and see if that makes a difference

Ahh, I'm sad the dining report is over, but it was sooo good that I'll survive!! Plus I have your next dining report to look forward to, I can't wait!! You really are a dining report celebrity, if the DIS had to vote you would win hands down in the dining report category!!:goodvibes

ps I can't see your BOMA pics either! Oh well that gives me something to look forward to later!;)

We arrived at the valet and he said you were here a few weeks ago right? I said in late June yeah how do you remember me?? He said I dont but I remember your car! I have a GTO with racing stripes so I guess it is a pretty memorable car but it is pretty darn sad when a valet picks you out as a big Boma eater
Was that the same guy that thought you were there to race a zebra? :rotfl: Wow Nicki, you're not only famous on the Dis but at AKL too :rotfl2:

Just wanted to send my condolences

Thank you.

Ok you guys I fixed the pictures, please let me know if you can see them now.

HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS!?!?!?!?!?

I am so in to read -going back to start from the beginning.

Love your reports!!!

Nicki - couple of questions:

I just switched our Ohana dinner to Grand Floridian Cafe. I know you've done both, please don't tell me I've made a mistake.

Also, what about the dress code for GFC? We'll be heading there on our first night after a few hours at MK. We'll all be dressed decent - probably shorts and capris, no ripped tees or tanks. Do you think that is appropriate? I know the GF is a very nice hotel and I don't want to offend anyone.

Thanks!

I have had the chance to try both places and the experience is completely different at each location.

We ate at Ohana the last time we had free dining and felt like it was a cattle call type operation; we were seated at the same time with 5 other couples all along the same wall and all shared the same server even though we did not know any of the other couples. So the server brought out a bread basket for one table, went in the kitchen grabbed a second one and then the second table got their bread, etc. This is exactly how every course of the meal was served, so if you would try and get a refill or a bit more of something you liked, it was impossible. We have read so many wonderful things about this restuarant, so this experience was unfortunate for a meal we were so looking forward to. Yes, we spoke with the manager and they apologized and we also wrote a letter and received an apology.

The GF cafe is a what you would expect from such a fine resort, but casual in dress and ambience. For lunch or dinner expect good service, great food and a relaxing time for you to reflect on the vacation so far and plan the rest. MickeyNicki's trip report helped us remember what a nice time we have had at the Cafe; we just called to make and ADR because of it.

We'll try Ohana again some day to give it one more try.

Thanks so much for fixing the pictures ... and the WONDERFUL report:thumbsup2

I have read so many reports like yours at Ohana, that is why we decided to switch. I want to relax at least some during our vacation and from reading Nicki's report on the GFC and the reports of others (plus our one time) at Ohanas, it seems we can do so more at the GFC. Thanks for your insight too! It makes me feel more comfortable about my decision.

MIL will be with us and she's not the snooty kind, but I do feel like she'll enjoy the GFC better than Ohanas. We have been to Ohanas and while I do remember it being tasty, I also remember it being a bit hectic there. Seems that is the norm.

Thanks again!

All I can see where there should be pics is
"Bandwidth exceeded, Apply for Photoshop Pro today" or something like that.

:guilty:

Thats all i got too. No pictures at all :confused3

WAAHH ... No pictures here either!!

Hopefully Nicki can resolve it as I can't wait to see the photos from GFC!!

No pictures here either.......I was hoping to show my husband.....hope it's fixed soon!

Love, Love, Love your trip reports........I wrote down places to try just cause of your pics and reviews.......you really have a talent of expression!!!

I can see some of them but others say the same thing about bandwidth..

I am so bummed that its over too but I cannot wait for the next one! Thanks for the vote! I think we all do a great job, if it wasnt for all of you I would not even know about all the great things in WDW! DH thanks me every trip for researching and planning as much as I do...it really makes a huge difference in our vacations.

HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS!?!?!?!?!?

I am so in to read -going back to start from the beginning.

Love your reports!!!

DH and I both loved GFC more than Ohana and we did enjoy Ohana very much. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of GFC and the special attention we received by the host, the server and just everyone! The food was fantastic at the GFC and I cannot wait to go back there....I am redoing my ressies today!

DH wore jeans and a tee..I had on a cotton dress but there were people in dressed in "straight from the park" attire and looked fine. I dont think the GFC is a fu fu type place so you will feel totally comfortable.

Thanks Nicki! I'm really excited about trying the GFC. Thanks for introducing us to it!

Nicki your meals for your next trip look great! We are going to some of the same ones in April so I can not wait to read about them!

Pics are back up guys!

YAY! Thanks for the review. I think it was your last review that prompted us to add a whole extra day to our trip just so we could eat breakfast at Boma and dinner at Ohana. We're going to be there the same time in October. Have a great trip!

i love your trip report!!!
I am wondering, When did you fax in your room request to the Poly? How far in advance?

Thanks a bunch
Angela
