Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the boards for all the great info while planning this "magical" vacation!!!!!

I was taking a few minutes to check email and being addicted to these boards, I realized that it had been 4 days since I had been here! If anyone has any questions, please ask as I will be checking in again soon.

The trip so far has been pure Disney! The weather is clear and hot, the water is calm, and the food is never-ending! We'll be leaving St. Marten shortly and off to St. Thomas for tomorrow. There is a 9/11 memorial tomorrow morning on Deck 9.

Well, I've gotta run.... I want to be on deck when the horn plays that magical sound "When you wish upon a star..."

Thanks for posting....I am very interested in what they do at the 9/11 Memorial Service onboard. Please let us know.

I think it is good that DCL remembers 9/11. I know people are on vacation, but this day needs to be remembered.

MJ

Glad to hear you are having fun!!! I can't wait to go again.

Please let us know how everything is going onboard....is there a somber feeling since it's the 9/11 anniversary????

I hope that you're cruise is going well, and wish you fair winds and following seas :smooth:

If possible could you pass on a message to a crew member for me. I was on the Magic last week. Her name is Lee Anne and she works in the gift shop (sorry I don't know her last name). This is her last week on board. Tell her the message is from her "Stingray snorkling buddy" (our family went on the stingray excursion with her). Let her know our pictures were a bust and I recall her saying she got some great shots. Please just pass on my email (gary.stockbridge@conectiv.com or Gstockbridge@comcast.net) and ask her to drop me a line if there is any chance of getting some copies from this great day of fun. (Thanks in advance if you pass this on - much appreciated).

Hello!!!

Another beautiful day in "Disney Paradise"!! Spent the day in St. Thomas on our own. We went to Coral World and then to Coki Beach in the morning then off to Charlotte Amalie(sp?) for afternoon shopping.

There was a 9/11 memorial this morning on deck 9. They played the national anthem, had a bagpiper play Amazing Grace, a few words by a priest, a shipboard moment of silence and then sang Let There Be Peace On Earth.

In St. Thomas the flags were all at half mast and people everywhere had on their patriotic shirts and pins but yet everyone was still in vacation mode.

Yakstock: What a small world! I know Lee Anne in the gift shop, I just talked to her a bit ago at the pin trading table! I have printed out your email address and will get it to her either tonight or tomorrow.

If anyone has any questions I'll be glad to try and answer!!

Myfairygodmother....

Small world isn't it - Thank you so much for passing on my message to Lee Anne - she was such a nice person to meet and I look forward to hearing from her. I hope your week was as enjoyable as mine. I am still going through the depresssion of returning. They need to give you some way of coming down from these cruises without going through major depression. I guess the only way would be to go for another week.....

Thanks again!

Gary

The best suggestion I ever heard to prevent post-cruise depression came from Webmaster Michelle and was to book another cruise and start planning. Even if it is way in the future, it is something to focus on and think about when the yucky things are happening.

I would have to agree!!!!! I am still in depression mode since our 8/3 cruise.

Time to really start planning another!!!! Well, actually we do have one planned for next July but that so far away. Maybe I need one from now till then!!!!

I have been thinking about what I posted yesterday and decided that it is not just the cruise we look forward to and plan that is a value of coming to DIS--

it is that while we wait, we check in on the boards and see what others are talking about and share our thoughts and experiences.

We focus our attention on the needs and well-being of others. We think outside ourselves. That is giving love to other people. And in reaching out to others, we feel better ourselves. The DIS helps us do that. :)
