Well, we arrived -- Last Saturday that is. Just now getting a chance to get on the computer. It has been wonderful. Great weather so far and the crowds are not bad. We've been using fast pass and getting to the parks when they first open. That definitely helps. We leave around mid day to come back for a nap for DS (20 months).

we have a wing room - room facing bay lake. It's an incredible view. So peaceful and quiet. The room is a little "worn" but not too bad. I'll take it any day. It's just so convenient to the magic kingdom.

Any questions from anyone??? If I don't get back right away, know that I will shortly. We're here for 2 weeks total so I will get back on.

Great to hear it!!! I'm glad you have time for us.

so what do you mean the rooms are "worn"? If you have time, can you describe it to me? thanx!

Glad to hear your report

We will be at CR in a few weeks!
I can't wait :)

Sotoalf - I guess what I mean is a few marks on the rugs and a small tear in the bedspread. Plus a few marks on the wall in the bathroom. But like I've said before -- I've seen these things at the poly and I've stayed there at least 5 times in the past 3 years.

The room is very clean -- I'll post room number after we leave in case you want to request it. I would not hesitate to recommend this room. Our room faces bay lake and we watch the sun rise every morning from our patio. It's about a 2 mintue walk to the food and fun center -- not bad at all.

Hope that helps.

Meekomaria, that's EXACTLY the room I want. Everyone requests the Tower, but I love the Bay Lake views. so glad to hear it's in decent shape.

thanks again.

No problem. We called the hotel directly about 3 days before our arrival (the contemporary told us to do that) to request our room. We gave them a range of room numbers -- and when we checked in they were happy to give us what we requested.

Our room is very close to the end of the buidling, so we walk outside most of the time (which it has been absolutely beautiful -- not a drop of rain since we arrived). The patio is wonderful. Very quiet -- no noise from any pools. And we can watch the electrical pageant from our bed!!!!

Thanks for the info we are going to CR for first time in July. I had requested a North Garden Room since I heard it was closed to MK & food court. Any other request I should make? I was wondering if I should request 1st floor. Bringing DS8, DD4, DD2. I have a garden/lake view.

Have a great time!

How is the Food Court area? Are there a lot of tables? Or is it more like grab your food and go back to your room to eat? I looked at the pictures on this site and it did not look very big.
How about the prices and selection of foods?

We normally stay at the All Stars.

Hi there! Glad you're having a great time.
Any thoughts on this: we booked PS at CG for our trip in July and asked for a time during Wishes. We were given 9:40 PM, but have since heard that they stop seating people 20-25 minutes before Wishes (which is at 10:00 PM) - even for people with PS. Someone said that by 8:00 PM, everyone in CG is there for the duration and no tables may come available (even for those with PS).
Do you have any wisdom on this? Should we try to change our PS (may not be possible now) or arrive good and early (say 9:00 PM)? Or just turn up?
Don't worry if you can't get an answer to this - you're on vacation, not a fact-finding tour!
Enjoy!!!

I can answer this. It's definitely not as big as the All Stars food court; then again, all the deluxe resort's food courts are very small in comparison. There are about 20-30 tables (approximately). I highly recommend avoiding rush hour: right before a park opens and when a park closes. At lunch it's pretty quiet.

Stratocastermagic -- we have dinner scheduled for CG on Monday evening - I will try to get an answer for you. If you can't change your PS, you could watch Wishes from the lounge that is adjacent to CG while waiting for your table? Just a thought...

Toesmom1 - I would request 1st floor. That's what we have. Since the 2nd and 3rd floors do not have balconies. At least you get a patio with the first floor.
