Hey Everyone: Checked into the Tower this morning and was assigned a room with a computer and internet access. Internet access is currently free!

Checked into the South Wing on Sunday, 11/26. I had a long wait for a room, I guess becasue everyone was heading out from the Thanksgiving holiday. It's more crowded than I expected. There were alot of long lines at the MK on Monday, 35 minutes for Pirates, 50 minutes for Space Mountain.

Epcot was much more quieter Monday with Soarin' having about a 20 minute wait (standby) and Test Track only about a 10 minute wait.

Appears to be alot of activity going on at the north wing. There are about 20 to 30 vehicles in the parking lot. It appears that the furnishings have been removed from all of the rooms.

There was a survey team in the concourse this morning. Appeared to be some construction folks along with some "suits". Appeared as they were looking over blueprints and other paperwork. Wonder if this is the beginning of the move of the arcade up the the 4th floor?

Both pools are warm. Doesn't appear that the heaters have been turned down for the winter yet.

If anyone has any questions, let me know. I'll be here through 12/3

Heading out to MVMCP tonight!

By the way, new key to the world cards have arrived! The one I received for the south wing was a yellow color and the ones I received today for the tower are light blue. They have "Walt Disney World Where Dreams come true" on them with a pic in the right hand corner of the spires of the castle with tinkerbell.

I hope your having an amaizing time at the Contemporary & reading after reading your post, I can't wait until I am there next month. Also it sounds like when I am there the Internet in the room will be free like it was back in August.

I wanted to ask you what is the parking situation like in the North Garden Wing? Are there a lot of spaces that are blocked off or is the opposite? If you can answer this I would appreciate it, so my family & I will know what to expect next month when we are at the Contemporary.

Hey CR Fan: Looks like there are about 50 parking spaces that are blocked off. These are the spaces directly in front of the north wing. Spaces on the far left side of the north wing are not blocked off. There are plenty of spaces available today. However the hotel is too booked today. I was able to transfer over to the Tower from the South Wing at 8:30 this morning. The hotel is booked solid beginning on Thurs. night. The only rooms in the tower that currently have computers are those on the 9th & 10th floors (at least that's what I was told at check-in). The info. in the room regarding "Disney's Online Concierge" indicates that all rooms will eventually have computers for internet access. Let me know if you have any other questions.

crazy4wdw: Thanks for the information about the parking spaces & if it stays the same way when I am there next month, at least my family & I will know what to expect. If I have any other questions for you, I will post them on here for you to answer when you can.

Thanks for posting! We get there tomorrow - hows the weather? Jeans/tshirt during the day?

Thanks!

:cool1: I was just whining on another thread as to info on what's up w/the North Bldg.

Doesn't appear to be much different from mid-Oct. when we were there. They move so slow...lol.

Are the sliding glass doors to the "pretend" balconies still hanging open?

I was fascinated with the BR sinks...do you like them? Hope you have a wonderful trip.

The weather's been great so far. High's around 80 to 82, low's in the mid-60's. There were scattered rain showers today. There has been alot of dense fog in the morning. The rain really came down for about an hour at MVMCP tonight. The first parade was delayed and a shorterned version was run.

Many of the glass doors to the rooms overlooking the parking lot are open. It appears that everything has been removed from these rooms. Also appeared that they were removing carpet out of the building this afternoon. I'm not to crazy about the sinks. They have a retro look but I don't think they are very functional. I was also suprised that the bathroom door has no lock! It just slides accross the doorway. They have also removed the closeline over the bathtub. Can't figure that one out.

I have some pics of the north wing but it will be next week before I can post them.

Thanks for posting! I'm obsessed w/the sinks, luv how they drain:thumbsup2 .

If the sliders are still hanging open almost 1-1/2 months later it's hard to believe there wouldn't substaintial damage from elements/pest infestations by now.

I'm predicting a re-build of all studios/family suites w/a DVC tie-in (full or partial):wizard:

Look forward to your pics, glad you had a super trip.

If you are going to be here next week, make sure you have sweatshirts. I just saw the long range forecast and after Monday, its getting colder here. High's in the mid-60's, lows in the mid-40's. :(

Hi
Have a great vacation and thanks for posting. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

I hope you're having a wonderful trip. We can't wait to go to CR. Any news on what's going on at the racquet club?

Yesterday was a dreary day at WDW. Mostly cloudly with periods of on and off rain. Went over to Disney/MGM yesterday morning. There are three stops on the bus route: CR, Poly, GF, and Disney/MGM. I bet folks staying at the GF weren't too happy with having to stand on the bus with the money they are paying to stay there (Of course, the CR is not cheap either!).

Went back over to Disney/MGM last night to see the Osbourne lights. Boy, the display is alot smaller since they no longer have the residential backlot street. The park was not crowded at all last night. Usually there is a long wait to see lights but last night it was manageable. Ate lunch at Sci-Fi yesterday - first time eating there. Posters on the restaurant board were right, the food is not that good. I had onion rings which were good but stay away from the turkey sandwich.

The hotel was really hopping yesterday afternoon. Lots of people in the lobby and 4th floor trying to access the elevators. I believe the hotel is sold out from today through next week. I talked to someone on the elevator last night that was not to happy that he could not get a table at either Chef Mickey's or Concourse Steakhouse.

Just a few interesting comments made by guests on the bus to Disney/MGM yesterday. As were're passing the Swan/Dolphin, someone comments "look everyone, there's the tower of terror while pointing at the Dolphin. On another bus ride over to the studios, two fellows are discussing the Swan/Dolphin. One fellow says "that's the Swan and Dolphin" . The other guy says "no", those are rides at Epcot! The Swan/Dolphin is a much bigger complex than that. Its located over at the Animal Kingdom. I think they are actually inside of the park!

The racquet club is still walled off, but its still there! There was a handout in the welcome packet that says the tennis courts are currently closed and guests may use the courts at the GF

Today was a perfect day weather wise here at WDW. High's around 83 and no rain. I took the bus trip from he** today to DD. The bus stopped at the Poly, WL, Fort Wilderness, and Typhoon Lagoon before reaching DD. I must have been on the bus at least 40 minutes. At least the return trip wasn't so bad. Spent most of the afternoon at the pool. The pool and beach area were the most crowded I've seen them since arriving. The hot tub by the pool slide has been out of operation this week. The food and fun center was packed this morning for breakfast. Ate at Chef Mickey's for dinner this evening. I am now waiting to see Holiday Wishes at 9:30 PM from my balcony.

I have an AP reservation for the 10:00 am showing of Finding Nemo: The Musical at AK in the morning. Can't wait to see the show.

It's really getting busy here! Went over to Epcot yesterday and wow was it crowded. There were long lines at the CR yesterday on the monorail platform. Also, its now a pain to get a elevator - most were packed yesterday afternoon. Today is my last full day at the world :sad2: I have lunch ressies at Rose & Crown and preferred seating for the candlelight processional at 5:00 PM. I will have some time in the morning before magical express picks me up at 1:30 PM. This trip has really flown by fast!

I hope to have some pics up by Monday.

My last live report from the Contemporary! Epcot was really crowded last night. The promanade around World Showcase was packed last night. As I headed out of the park about 8:00, I noticed the standby line for Soarin' was 90 minutes, Test Track was 70 minutes. I had a late lunch at the Rose and Crown as part of the candlelight processi onal package. This my first time eating at this restaurant. I had the guiness beff stew and it was excellent!I talked with several people who were at the MK and they said it was crowded also. Lots of heavy fog in Central Florida today. There is no action at all going on over at the north wing this morning. No trucks or cars in the parking lot - maybe becasue its Sunday. I hope to have some of pics up tomorrow, especially of the north wing as many people are interested in these.

Hey All: Here are some pics of the CR North Wing. The last pic is of the rooms that face the marina/pool area. They were working on these rooms while I was there. The sliding glass doors remained opened over several days and there were times you could see construction workers in the rooms. I have some more pics to add (mostly of the CR Christmas decoratons) but it'll be tomorrow before I post them.
