Live from Saratoga Springs!

Afternoon! Just back from an Early Entry Day at MK and let me tell you. At 12 noon the place was packing them in!!! I couldn't believe the amount of people coming into the park as DH and I were leaving. The bus this morning was a little crowded and actually 1 passed us up. But in about 10 minutes two empty ones pulled into Congress Park to take us in. That wasn't too bad.

The dining plan is wonderful. No problems at all. Just hand the CM your room key and that's it. You don't even know what the bill would have been because when you get your receipt it's all "zeros" where $$ amounts would be. But it's definately worth it and we're very happy we purchased it.

Well time to hit DTD....Dh is waiting for me! :teeth:

I do have to say this again, SSR is such a beautiful resort. We have NO regrets at all about purchasing here.

Later!!

Thanks for the update! It's nice to get info from someone who is actually there! I have not been at SSR since it was completed, are you writing from your own laptop (since someone mentioner earlier there are in-room hookups) or is there a "buisness center" or something? :surfweb:

Well, all good things must come to an end. :sad2: We fly home tomorrow.

This morning I had this long report and as soon as I hit submitt the site died!! So here goes again:

The Spa - went there yesterday and it was lovely!!!! It's directly next to the Turf Club which is next to Artist Pallette. I had a spa manicure and a spa pedicure. 20% discount for DVC members and that was nice. Conchita was the name of the young woman who took care of me and she was excellent. So if you're planning to head there for your tootsies and fingers remember that name. If you want a massage you must make an appointment ahead of time. I'd say a few weeks before you actually come down. For the gentleman who wanted information; when I get home I have a link for the spa and I'll post it. It has all the information you could need.

The two pools are lovely. But they do fill up by 2PM. I'd go early in the morning and it was great. Noticed that around noon people start to wander in.

Internet service is fine. For the person asking; it's High Speed in room service and it's 9.95 per 24 hours. Cables are provided and if you can't find them we found ours hanging in the closet!

Turf Club - food is definately good. We ate there twice. One night we both had the steaks and they were cook perfectly. Tonight I had the burger and DH had the penne and chicken. Appetizers are excellent as well. You don't leave hungry.

Dining Plan worked great for us. We have NO credits left! :thumbsup2 Most of our snack credits went for waters and such. But we did get pretzles, rice krispey treats and sweet pretzles in Norway. Definately a great deal for us.

Well...I don't want to loose this page too so I'm signing off from SSR for now. Tomorrow when I finish my report I'll be in The Bronx, dreaming of SSR.

Night all.....

Thank you for the update. If your hoping for milder weather when you get home - forget about it. It's been miserable all week!

Safe Travels and cant wait to hear the rest! :thumbsup2

I think we will really enjoy the Turf Club. We may never leave the resort now! LOL!!

Thank you for the information. I came back from Pleaston, Ca last night. Another week for the DW taking care of the kids on her own. The SPA sounds great. I would love the link to the SPA. The DW is a little uncomfortable with massages. However, the last time she had one, she told me she could just melt. I plan to get her one.

Thanks again.

I knew you would enjoy your stay. I think that you can hop on a bus and get off at the main pool area. I think I remember SSR buses also.

www.relaxedyet.com is the link.

Let me reassure you that the massages at the spa are wonderful !!! :cloud9:

DH & I go each time we are down - we trade off the kids & go one at a time.

Do make sure you call to book as soon as you decide as they can book up. Glad to answer any other questions you might have.

I think it would be a very nice treat for her!

Live from The Bronx! :sad1: Well, we're home and we were the last flight to get into Kennedy before they shut down all incoming because of that storm. Our flight was delayed in Orlando by an hour and let me tell you. This plane was "flying". He really wanted to get in and out fast. We dropped 10,000 feet in a few minutes and you could hear all the kids beginning to cry because of the ears hurting.

Ok... a few more SSR tidbits - :) The place should be completed by next October with the addition of 2 new pools and a new Artist Pallette "type" restaurant/shop in the new area.

Magical Express was great. They pick you up 3 hours prior to your flight. If you need assistance with your luggage you make an appointment the day before. And if you are lucky enough to fly out on certain airlines you can check in at the resort and not have to worry about your luggage until you reach your final destination. Jet Blue is one of the Airlines and if anyone would like the others, when I unpack sometime today :rolleyes2 I'll find my little book and post the other participating airlines.

I see someone posted the spa link. So that's done. Oh it's only about a 5-10 minute walk to DTD, depending on how you walk. It's really not bad. I did it with my bum knee so anyone can really do it. We really liked going in early, when the shops first open and you can browse all you want without any crowds.

Well SRR lovers, I think that's it. It's good to be home, but I'd much rather be sitting on the balcony right about now with my Mickey mug looking over at DTD.

To all going soon, have a magical trip and a safe one. To those who still have time, keep dreaming. We have nothing if not for our dreams!!!!! Till the next time.....

Yes I just remembered. There's an "Internal Resort Bus" that just goes around the resort picking people up and dropping them off where ever! And one night as we were "dragging" ourselves home, a Security Guard asked us where we were going and we told her Congress Park and she drove us!! :thumbsup2 We were just leaving the Turf Club and we were tired. She normally worked at the MK but someone called in sick so she was there and wanted an excuse to "see the place"!! We were so happy for the lift that night!!!

Ooooohhh!! The Spa!! :cloud9:

Cant wait to hear details!

Liferbabe, it was heavenly!! I had tried to get a massage added on but they were booked up the entire week. But that manicure and pedicure were so relaxing. This young woman, Conchita, took her time and each little finger and toe got such attention! :goodvibes I almost fell asleep in the pedicure chair!!! They use this lavender and mint oil/mask on your arms and legs and you just feel sooooo cool and tingley!

I'm going back for the Food and Wine Festival and I'm going to see if I can sneak in for a little "me" time. I may be solo for that trip. DH was suppose to go but now he's not sure if he can make it. Hey...I'm very comfortable in WDW by myself but I do hope he can come with me again.

I am glad to hear that you got home safely. Thank you for answering all of my questions. My DF and I look forward to our trip in December. Ok, I am the one that wants to go. In fact, I am the reason why we bought a week at SSR.

I am definetly going to arrange to get my DW to the spa. I am thinking of two treatments for her. The Sweedish Massage, and the other that is a facial and manicure.

The DW deserves it and then some.

Again, thank you.

Take care.

Thanks for all of the info! It is nice to hear such great things about SSR--esp. from a non SSR owner. :thumbsup2

Actually we do own at SSR. We just purchased sight un-seen a few months ago and wanted to stay here instead of our first "home" which is the Boardwalk. I really didn't find one thing that I didn't like there except what I originally posted; no hooks on the back of the doors!!! :rotfl: I mean, if that's the only thing then I'm happy!!!

No; we love it there and I can definately see DH and I returning when we want that "relaxing vacation".

Thanks Ms. WDW. I'll be leaving in a few hours for SSR (weather permitting).
It's our first time at the resort and we're looking forward to a great week. :wave2:

Oh I hope you leave on time!! Have a wonderful time and please let us all know how you like it when you return.

Sure do wish I was going; again; now!!!! ;)

I had Conchita too!! She was GREAT!! My polish lasted so long I still have it! LOL! I've trimmed my nails and pushed back my cuticles, but the polish is going on strong!

Loved the mask wrap around the legs :thumbsup2 You cant help but ask "what is that!" as she is smoothing it on :cloud9:

Had they moved into their new area or were you in the area with 2 pedi chairs?
