We arrived last night. We had a great flight from Indy and even arrived about 10 minutes early.

There was no line at DME and a bus was waiting. Total time from arrival at the gate until leaving the airport was 25 minutes. 35 minutes later we arrived at OKW where, again, there was no line at the front desk (but, it was 8:30pm). Everything was in order - we had already gotten an email from OwnersLocker, letting us know that our locker had been delivered to OKW - and while waiting to leave Indy, I got a call from Garden Grocer to let me know our order was at Bell Services.

When we checked with Bell Services, they informed us that our Locker and our groceries had already been delivered to our villa , so all we had left to transport was our carry-on bags.

We are in building 24 and our villa is spotless with new linens and new style sofas. We have a golf course view and look across at building 19/20 with a pond both to our left and right. It's a short walk to either the Peninsular Road bus stop or over to HH.

I asked about the internet service and was told it was now free for DVC Members. I logged on and we now need to enter the last 10 digits from our room ID which then takes us to another screen where the following appears:

Thank You!

PAYMENT DETAILS: Clicking below will provide you with 24 Contiguous Hours of access to the Internet starting with the minute the connection is made. The access fee of $9.95 will be charged to Room kwid-XXXX-XXXX-01. The access fee is non-refundable and will appear as a charge on your folio. This charge does not apply to Disney Vacation Club Members.

I don't know if guests/renters will be charged or not - but from the way this is worded it appears that only DVC members may have the fee waived since they can verify DVC membership based on the fact that each room ID has a specific guest name. Stay Tuned.

Weather is HOT - humidity was not too bad at arrival, but an increase is predicted this week. Temps were upper 80's yesterday with low 90's thru the weekend with a "cool-off" for early next week - back into the uper 80's. This morning offers cloudless blue skies and light breeze so far.

We're heading out now for a few hours. We have a lunch ADR at Coral Reef this afternoon, as well as other plans during our stay at Narcoosee's, Le Cellier and CA Grille.

More later...

Doc,

Have a great trip. Hopefully you'll spend time enjoying your vacation rather than tracking down nitpicky rules... but on the oft chance you *wanted* to track down the rules, it would be real helpful to know who gets free internet.

Is it just members staying in a room? What happens if a member is down in one room, with family members in a second room, etc...

Glad yo hear about the free internet access. We will be at OKW next month (OMG NEXT MONTH!) and was hoping to have the free access by then.

Glad to hear that things are going so smoothly for you! OKW is such a relaxing place. Are the sofas new versions of the same pattern or entirely new sofas altogether? If they are totally new, I'd love to see what they look like if you have a second to take a picture. If not, don't worry about it at all--enjoy your trip!

Have fun, Doc. We'll be there starting the middle of next week and also are dining at California Grill, Narcoossee's and Le Cellier as well as others. Bon apetit!

Glad to hear that there are no problems with free internet. We start off at club level AKV and had all sorts of problems with the connection in Feb.. If it works this time and is free...well, that will be nice indeed!

Thanks for the update!! :thumbsup2 We'll be at OKW in... er.. how many days does that ticker say? Glad to hear everything is running extra smoothly so far!

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Look forward to hearing more!

Have a great trip.....I loved OKW:goodvibes

Happy to hear the free internet is finally a reality.

BTW the Surf n Turf at Narcossee's is amazing.
Thanks for the report
Kerri

Boy, I wish we were there now! We have been home for 2 months now, and not going back until next January. It seems like WAY too long to wait!!!

Thanks for letting us know. :flower3: DH will be so relieved to know he'll have his internet when we go next month. I wouldn't want him to have withdrawals :lmao:

Until I read these boards I never ever paid attention or remembered what villa I've had. I need to start paying attention!

Good news about the internet! Enjoy your trip Doc!!

Just back from the Flower Power concert at Epcot. Tonite was The Tokens (The Lion Sleeps Tonite - 1961). The concert was fun, although the group didn't have a deep repertoire to draw from. (Neil Sedaka was one of the original members of the group.) Davy Jones begins his concerts on Sunday followed by Jose Feliciano.

It was another 90+ degree day, but the humidity is still not terrible. We went to the MK this morning and the crowds were very manageable - we left about noon and there was a steady stream of guests coming into the park.

Tomorrow we'll probably head over to DD early and stay out of the weekend park crowds as much as possible. We have dinner at Narcoosee's in the evening. MK is open until midnite though, so we may venture over there after dinner depending on the heat.

Here are some pics from the Tokens concert. Click on an image for a larger view.

Sounds like your having a great time. Weather here in PA today was in the 40's so 90's sound wonderful to me. Thanks for the update.
