Live From Easter Magic Cruise

Hi TChrist05

The soda mug program (as of this cruise) is the sticker on your KTTW card. I think the mug is included.

We booked through AAA which has a page in the lead person's cruise docs. After we had boarded, we went to a mug table at Promenade Lounge (deck 4 midship) The CM at that table gave us our AAA mugs and put a sticker on our KTTW card. I have seen in previous posts that if you have the AAA mugs, you did not get the sticker on the card so I guess it depends which CM you happen to get.

Got to unplack some more.

P.S. This is Hans Solo this time. DCBrown should be back on boards late today.

Welcome back, Hans Solo. Question for you about Easter aboard the Magic as we, too will be on next year's Western Easter cruise (a mouthful!). What kinds of Easter related activities do they offer, if any. Our kids will be 6, 9, and 11. Thanks!

Hi Hans Solo - good to hear from you aboard the Magic. If you should pass by the ESPN Lounge, could you do me a favor and ask if they will be getting NBC on this Saturday for the Kentucky Derby, or if they'll be showing it there anywhere. I read where the stateroom tvs only get CBS and ABC of major stations, but would wonder if they might be broadcasting the Derby up there on Saturday. Would much appreciate it. Thanks Enjoy your trip and hope you have great weather. Barb & Ray:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I counted 17 names on the unOfficial Cruise list for the April 26th Western Magic.

Thanks for the info mmouse. I sort of thought that was what was going on bbut wasn't sure. Hope someone out there can help out. Thanks

Hey Hans,

First post since cruise...Rumor has it you are booked for the April 10th Western cruise 2004....could that be correct? Kaitie is ecstatic altough I haven't thoroughly confirmed w/her that we are booked. I need a little leverage in the good behavior department....mostly with her sister.

Jeff,

Great meeting you and your family on the cruise. I think we will be going on the Easter cruise next year as well. It is the western carribean which looks great. We all had a great time and it was fun meeting the Diser's aboard the ship. As soon as my vacation points become available in August I will book.

Everything was much better than I expected. I have been on several cruises and this was the best by far!!!!! God willing I will see ya next April.!!!

Go Yankees!!!!!!!!!!

DCBrown...Will see you also...Great meeting you on the cruise!!!

Dennis and family!!!

Hey Dennis,

I booked w/out points for the next one and I am paying same amount total cash that I paid for this last one. I paid cash this Easter for adult daughter and little sis, and points for myself. Got the onboard credit...booked a cat 11 and will plan to upgrade at port when I get there for half the price. I just could not pass that up. I think the onboard credit might be good still 30 days out. Also with DVC points you don't have to wait till they become available as long as your booking for that use year.

It was nice to meet you as well. My bil (yankee fan) is going to have a Magic Cruise reunion party this summer...if you are interested let me know.

Hello everyone! We got back at 2:00 AM Monday morning (today) so I am a bit sleep deprived! Had to work today which is definately a bit depressing after being spoiled on the Magic!!! We spent Sunday at the Magic Kingdom after the cruise, had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, and swam in the Volcano pool at the Poly. The cruise was a blast! It was great meeting all the DISers on board, especially Dennis and Vicky! We had a lot of fun at the Dueling Pianos and the 70's Party. If you have any questions, please ask!
Ann
Kris (Pal2Pluto) Thanks for thinking of me!!! I will email you soon! You're the best!!!:Pinkbounc

DCBROWN,

I don't have any points available until August 2003. I borrowed from this year to go on this cruise and paid cash for the boys. I am thinking about purchasing additional points through resale We will see what happens. There still should be rooms available the begining of August for next Easter cruise. I booked lasy year in late July for this past cruise and there were still rooms available.

Let me know when you have the reunion. Maybe we will be able to make it. Thanks for the invite.

Ann and Cliff.......Great meeting you. Thanks for all the tips!!!! The upgrade was the best!!! We loved the verandah!!! Will do the same for the next cruise. Hope you had a great time in Disney too. It was real tough coming back on Saturday!! Still not in the swing of things!!! Can't believe you are going on the Christmas cruise!!!! Something to really look forward too!!!!

Ed........Yankees are defintely going to win the World Series....Maybe I'll catch up with you at Camden Yards!!!!

Talk to you all soon!!!!!

Dennis

DenVick,

If I am not mistaken, you can still call now even if you are borrowing points. I booked Christmas 2003 at OKW yesterday using 2004 points. That way you get a wider variety of rooms available and you can pretty much choose....now you really know the layout. You should call and just inquire anyway. I'll give bil the message and let you know adat when he decides on one.

Thank God I am a gym teacher and I don't have to go back to a "Real Job". I don't know if I could do that. I get to play games for the next 7 weeks. It is not as depressing as it could be after such a great cruise. Maybe I could makeup a "Disney Magic Cruise Game"!! I would like that even more than the kids!!

DCBrown,
How did you like the Golden Eagle?

DenVic (Dennis),
How did you like your snorkeling excursions???

Ann

Hey Ashley24,

My kids loved the Golden Eagle. That was their first experience w/snorkeling. They were a bit disappointed when they tried the snorkeling at Castaway...no fish unless you went way out. I did not get off the catamaran except to cool off. Shopping is my thing ...not snorkeling!! I let them have the fun this time.

Are you and your husband DVC members? If not, you should be...with all the $ you are spending on cruising!! We are booked again for next Easter for the western. Have fun at Christmas...we will be ringing in the new year at Old Key West...our home away from home.

Ann,

We went on the shipwreck cove tour in St. Maarten and the Buck Island one in St. Thomas.

Both were good but the Buck Island one was exceptional.

We took a sailboat across with just the four of us and it was great.

Personalized treatment and the water was beautiful. It was real calm and we saw so much. Even had the chance to hold a sea turtle as it came up for air. Would defintely recommend that snorkeling tour.

DCBrown.

I already borrowed my 2003 points to go on this past cruise. Defintely have to wait to August 2003 to borrow my August 2004 points. You can only borrow one year in advance. I am, however, in the process of purchasing more points either through Disney or resale. Will do something withing the next few days. My family and I really want to go on the Easter cruise next year!!

I really miss Old Key West though. Haven't been there since last June. I love that place!!!!! How many points do you have?? You must have alot to be able to book two cruises and then Christmas at Old Key West!!! I hope to purchase an addtional 200 or so points which will make it easier to go on the cruises and stay at Old Key West.

Talk to you all soon......

Dennis

Dennis,

I have 320 points all at Old Key West. I am paying cash next time for the Easter cruise as it was the same amount of $ that I paid this time and I didn't even have to use points.

DVC has a different cash pay scale than the cruiseline itself. It is less $ if you book directly w/cruiseline instead of DVC. You also do not have to pay all upfront. You have til 60 days out to pay it off. Plus the 200$ onboard credit and the new Disney Visa program where you don't get charged any interest for 6 mos made it a better deal than using points.

I travel alone w/ my kids as my husbands busy time of the year is opposite mine. He has his own landscaping business an I am a teacher. So I only needed 209 pts to book a cat 11 last time and $2729. for the kids. Next Easter it is a total of $2800. for all of us ...no points and that is after the $200. onboard credit.

Hope that helps in some way.

DC Brown,

Thanks for the info!! Called Disney and booked the Easter cruise next year. Should have done it on the ship were I could have received a $200.00 credit like you but was unsure if I was going to use points or not. You are right about the points vs. cash. My wife was real happy when I told her I booked. Well we will be seeing each other again next Easter too!!!!!

Thanks again!! will have to start another countdown soon!!!

Now I can use my points to go to Old Key West!!!! The best resort in Disney!!!!

Dennis

Dennis,
Which category room did you book?
I feel left out! The Easter cruise WAS fun!
Ann

Dennis,

So glad to hear it worked out for you....thats exactly how I am going to OKW at Christmas....they still have rooms available!! We are in a 1BR from the 27th (my 50th bd) through the 3rd.

Ann, we booked a cat 11 and will upgrade to a 6 again at port...I can deal w/an 11 if we don't get it though...just to be on the cruise. My only problem might be our 2003-2004 school calender. We may get the week before Easter off instead due to the fact that those days can accomadate Passover as well. The calender should be out soon....my kids and I are keeping our fingers crossed.
