Just got here a few hours ago, so I'll put down my observations thus far. First, it's always so funny when people try to predict how long Magical Express takes and when they'll get to their resort so they can make reservations. My experience-last time, waited about 10 minutes at the airport, then got on and went. AKL was the first stop, so I was checking in in about 1 hr 15 minutes after landing. Today-got right on the bus, then waited....and waited... then the bus stopped at Caribbean Beach, then Pop, before AKL. So it was close to 2 hours after landing before I checked in.
At check-in, nothing was said about the internet, so it'd better be free. DVC has been known to take away benefits without telling anyone. Worst of all-no more jewelry making! And they don't have the ceramics painting at Jambo. They offer something at Kidani which they tell me is the same thing-I plan to find out first hand tomorrow. Movies at the Jambo pool every night, and also at the Kidani pool every night. I forget where she said the movie would be if it was raining, which it is. But I think I'll just settle in and unpack, even though the movie at Jambo is "Finding Nemo". But there are lots of good movies this week. And Sunday I'll be sure to get the new schedule. I really had hoped for a savannah view value studio, which I didn't get, but that's OK. All is well-I had my butternut squash soup and my blueberry muffin is all set. Oh, Oh-I just remembered-tomorrow I'd planned on RD at MK so I could have breakfast at MS Bakery.

I think DSis had pool view value studio 5020 last week, and we were in the 2 bedroom right next to it. It wasn't savannah view, but very convenient for using the pool.

First time on the DME for us to AKV, we stopped at Caribbean Beach, then Pop, then AKV. It was sooooo long. The same stops on the way back, plus rain, took us 2.5 hours just to get to the airport. After that trip, we started renting a car.

Our last ME ride to AKV was just as long. Plus a mile outside the resort the bus got a flat tire! So then we had to wait even longer for another ME bus to pick us up.

Our personal magical express leaves Sunday from VA and we will be checking in Jambo House on Monday!!! Should make it to Orlando by Sunday evening and will spend one night in a motel offsite.

I just got home from Jambo last night. They still have jewelery making at Kidani, and even better, they have free beaded activities at both that are fun and I made my bracelet that way. They also had ceramica painting at kidani. When j first asked they pointed to a small shelf of "cheap" looking items and said that was it. Later in the week they had the real ceramics stuff out and they were cute!
Tell the zebras and giraffes that I miss them!!

Check in Sunday at AKL-Kidani. How is the weather.

Hot and Humid. My clothes were soaked with sweat after only a few hours today. Then the afternoon showers. Sitting at GFC, it was dry right outside, but pouring at Polynesidan. A few minutes later it poured everywhere. About 15 minutes after that, the sun came out, it stopped raining, and people were back at the pool.

HOT and HUMID today. By 10:30 I was looking for attractions based on the amount of time in airconditioning. Went to Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch. Imagine you get soaked with sweat (even underwear is wet), so when I finally got into GFC and had a cold lemonade, boy did I get a chill! I hope I don't catch a cold before this trip is done. I did get to the HM, and the new cemetary is so cute. I also love the new ending with the ghosts.
I wanted to eat in the MK, but everywhere was PACKED. Tortuga Tavern (is that the name) was open for once, but so full I couldn't find a place to sit down. That's why I escaped to the GFC.
It rained off and on in the PM, so I went to Kidani and did the ceramics. Unfortunately, their choices have really decreased from when it was at Jambo. And they said that they no longer do the jewelry making-new change. I did take the shuttle back (which I hadn't been told of-just nknew from here to ask). I waited about 8-10 minutes, but then I realized that I could have gone to the bus stop and hopped any bus (except DTD) and probably made it sooner.

Went to Animal Kingdom today. Got to see the baby elephant on KS. Ate lunch at Tusker House. I had an ADR for 12:30, but decided to try my luck as a walk up at 11:30. Waited about 5 minutes to get seated. Went to the Festival of the Lion King show, and if possible, I think it was even better than I remember. Boy, are they talented performers! I also went to Flights of Wonder and Finding Nemo. Other than that, I just took it easy, enjoyed being there, but I didn't want to rush around in the heat. The lovebugs are noticeable to me, but not annoyingly so.
I tried to be nosy about the new Avatar land, but everyone insisted they knew nothing. The girl at the tip board also wondered about the future of Camp Minnie Mickey, as she had heard the rumor of it possibly going there. But she said nothing would happen for several more years.
Another early evening. More butternut squash soup and a cookie for supper, then rest up for the Toy Story dash tomorrow morning Monday will probably be an "off" day since I have the Wanyama Safari booked. Then Tuesday I'll just have to go to DTD and pick out a birthday gift for my grandaughter. If I wait til Wednesday, when Grandpa gets here, he'd probably buy out Disneyworld, just to be sure he got her something she'd like.

I was excited when I saw this thread! We have a Jambo GV in March with our two sets of grandparents. I will be following it diligently to enhance my excitement.

If you get a chance, could you let me know what kind of coffee filters I should bring? I can't imagine making their pre-filled packs work for five coffee drinkers every day. Thanks!

Slept in this morning (for me). Last night I went to the Jambo movie at the pool, after not being able to find it for several days. Unlike when I saw it at Kidani a couple years ago, it's not right at the pool, it's hidden in an alcove behind the pool bar. It was really nice-Toy Story 3, which was appropriate for me since I'd gone to DHS and ridden TSMM yesterday. Also, I'd had lunch at 50s Prime Time and a red velvet cupcake at Starring Rolls. The only other things I did at DHS was Beaty and the Beast show, watched Pixar Parade, and spent lots of time enjoying the Streetmosphere characters.
Tonight-Wanyama Safari and Jiko, so don't eat much today! And Brandon from Sanaa called me to confirm my Lunch with the Animal Specialists for Wednesday. Poor Brandon-this is about the fourth time I've called to confirm. Not like I'm anxious or anything. But I've got a list of questions I've written out-some for tonight some for Wednesday. That's my plan for today-double-check and think if I need to ask any additional questions. I don't dare leave the resort. Don't want to take any chance of missing the Safari!
