I'm posting live photo updates as we try food at each booth. If you can't get enough food porn, click the "I'm at WDW" link in my signature! :)

Mmmmm...thanks! How was the soup? (sometimes the batches are too salty :( ).
How are the crowds?

Hi Lurkyloo.

Can you possibly take pictures of the menu boards at each booth for us? Thanks.

I think it is great that you are down there now - although we miss you on the wedding boards.

Hope you guys are having fun - and eating lots of good food. I can't wait till we go down in November.

Linda

The soup portion (Canada kiosk) that they gave you is the portion they should be giving everyone. Unfortunately, they often try to give you a half-full portion.

Last year I was assertive enough to tell them that I'd like a full portion of soup, please. :flower3:

You are welcome to my recipe! It was handed down from my great grandmother!
Please bear in mind that my first language is German and I did my best to translate this! :goodvibes

Baked bacon dumplings

Ingredients:
400 gr bacon (best to mix two different kinds) cut into small cubes
Pepper
Parsley

Potato dough
500 gr potatoes
1 egg
1 spoonful of butter
150 gr flour
Salt

“Dressing”
2 eggs
3 tablespoons sour cream
4 tablespoons milk
Salt

• Best to use potatoes that were cooked the day before. Rice the potatoes and mix with the flour. Make a little dent in the middle and add butter, egg and salt. Knead until you have a dough.
• Mix the bacon with parsley and pepper
• Cut the potato dough into equal portions, flatten on the palm of your hand, fill with the bacon mixture and form a dumpling.
• Butter a cooking tin and roll every dumpling in the “liquid” butter. Sit them close together into the tin .
• Bake until they start to become golden.
• Mix the “dressing” ingredients in a bowl and pour over the dumplings when they are golden. Bake until the dressing isn’t liquid any more.

Enjoy! :flower3:

Thank you so much!! I cant wait to try it!! :goodvibes

Yummy!!

Great pictures in your blog!
I love the Chilequiles. It's good to see them back. I also got excited to see the churros and chocolate sauce at Madrid; we'll have to get that as a reminder of our trip to Madrid and Barcelona last April. :)

All of the food looks amazing, and as a swing dancer, I loved your BBVD picture -- that must have been a great concert. I can't wait to see what else you'll try, and we're looking forward to the rest of your TR.

Hi Lurkyloo! Your pictures are so fun - it really looks like you two are having a great time! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing with us all. :goodvibes

OK, we're finally back, so I can (belatedly) answer questions!

Mmmmm...thanks! How was the soup? (sometimes the batches are too salty :( ).
How are the crowds?

The soup didn't taste too too salty to me - guess I lucked out! The crowds were heavier than I am used to in the off season but not too crazy on Friday. We didn't even attempt it on Saturday, though...

Hi Lurkyloo.

Can you possibly take pictures of the menu boards at each booth for us? Thanks.

You know, I was planning to do this, but when I saw how fast my iPhone's battery drained from the constant photos and uploads, I decided to sacrifice menus for food pix. You can find the menus on the Food & Wine page on the DIS and, I believe, on Allears.net. They haven't changed since they were released a few weeks ago. (And I overheard a CM say the menus are tested and set 2 months in advance!).

The soup portion (Canada kiosk) that they gave you is the portion they should be giving everyone. Unfortunately, they often try to give you a half-full portion.

Last year I was assertive enough to tell them that I'd like a full portion of soup, please. :flower3:

Good for you - and lucky for me! I didn't even share it with DH.... :lmao:

Thanks anyway, I understand about the battery drain. We were just getting anxious to see the correct booth info with prices. Someone usually posts pictures of the menus sometime during the 1st weekend but I haven't found any yet. I guess a lot of the regulars were busy getting in their last visits to Pleasure Island. All the food looks really wonderful. I'm trying to decide what new items I will sample this year.
