This will probably be pretty short for a trip report, but I thought I'd give it a try. We checked in on Wednesday July 22 about 12:00pm after an uneventful flight and quick trip in from the airport by FL Tours. .We checked in, room wasn't ready (I knew not to expect it), friendly cast member, our request for a ground floor wasn't met, but we did get the second floor. We got our room about 4pm, some minor inconveniences with receiving the notice, but overall no problems. The room was fantastic. Its our first time in a 2bedroom, and the extra space is worth it! The room was in good shape-minor, minor wear/tear but spotless. Each evening has had rain, but only really hard on our first evening. First dinner was at Kona. One of my kids has a shellfish allergy, everyone has treated this as no big deal. Dinner was really good. thursday we hit HS and Typhoon Lagoon until rain hit about 6pm. Decent dinner at ESPN zone. Kona for breakfast Friday, followed by a relaxing evening at the pool, until we went for emh at MK. Park was supercrowded but we rode everything we wanted within 3 hours. The crowd really thinned by 11:30.

Saturday we lounged at the pool, hit epcot to snag fast passes for the kids for their first solo trip to a park that evening and returned to get ready for an adult dinner with friends at Bluezoo. Terribly disappointing meal, given the fact that it was by far our best experience in February. The quality seemed to drop off considerably. OUr kids however had a great experience at Epcot, although it once again was cut short by rain. Teens have fun when they escape the parents once in a while! Overall, so far, I'm very happy. Room quality/cleanliness is great. I will say that we have noticed some differences from previous trips over the last 5 years. The bus service seems a little slower, or at least fewer buses seem to be operating. The grounds, everywhere, don't have that absolutely immaculate, always freshly trimmed appearance. It appears they've cut back on groundskeeping. Castmembers have been pleasant, but nothing outstanding like I've noticed in the past. I don't think first time visitors would notice these things, but I've always been so impressed with how Disney operates the entire experience that a lessening of that is noticed.

Also, we purchased a couple of items that have had a great impact on the trip. Tables in Wonderland paid for itself after a breakfast and 2 dinners, and we are a family of four who don't order a huge amount of food. Hubby bought the world of golf card, and is loving the reduced prices, playing more than we expected. Overall after 4 nights, we are having a good trip. Looking forward to Cali Grill, Boma, Captains Grill, 9 Dragons. Will update later if I get a chance. Looks like rain is expected each night, but it hasn't interfered yet!

Thanks for posting. Looking forward to hearing more! We arrive at BCV in August, so I'm curious if we'll be feeling some of these "cut backs" I've heard mentioned from others as well. Doesn't sound like it's impacting your trip too much, but it is disconcerting. Hope the rest of your trip goes well! :thumbsup2

We are leaving on Tuesday July 28 for a trip to OKW. Can not wait to go. We will have fun. JP

7/27 update. It has rained more than usual on this trip, but not enough to ruin anything. We only got 4 holes in for our golf game, but they cheerfully gave us a rain check, good for whenever we can get back. Really unfortunate experience at Cali Grill however. The server just seemed in way over his head. First he said the chef would come speak about my ds's allergy (as is the usual procedure) then when we went to order, he blew off my request, insisting he would communicate the allergy. English wasn't his first language, and I wasn't happy with how cavalier he was with the allergy, so he finally gave in and got the chef. My bisque was fantastic, but my dh got talked out of the Yoshi platter and into the Kazan roll, and was a liitle disappointed. More to the point, my hubby's filet came out with a huge, long piece of hair right in the center of the plate, effectively killing his appetite. It took a long time to get the server back, who really seemed unsure what to do. Eventually a manager came over (I think she was tipped off by cm's dining nearby) and she really went out of her way to make things right. gotta run now, kids anxious to get to putt putt.

Ick!!:crazy2: Sorry you DH didn't enjoy his Spicy Kazan roll- I LOVE that one, I think I could eat it every day!:thumbsup2 Hope you enjoy hair-free dining at the rest of your meals!
