Little to No Discount Blues! Who else didn't get a email?

No discounts for us either :( But I asked the CM to check to see if it was available anyway for our dates and it wasn't, so I don't feel so bad. AAA was the only discount I could get at the WL for our time. Better than nothing for sure. We will still have a magical time!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

None, Nada zip ...
looked in my spam folder and there was nothing there  All this I have for my October trip is my AAA discount for POR. I am at least going to try re-book at POFQ.

I want to say unfair to me but I guess a lot of other people didn't get the email either. It still is a real bummer to us!! I will keep checking these boards everyday and hope for a better discount than my AAA. :worried:

Nope not here either. Hoping the fla rates come out soon for oct and dec ;)

still waiting for an offer here too. I would suggest you guys double check your preferences on disney.com. I just went to look at mine (I thought maybe if I clicked around at a few offers but didn't book....) and I discovered that the option to recieve offers from parks and resorts was DISABLED. I KNOW I had checked it because the last time we were waiting for AP rates the postcards started coming out. I registered and made sure that box was checked but for some reason it ended up being disabled. It can't hurt to double check!

:mad:I’m SO frustrated with Disney and their discounts!

I totally understand and appreciate discounts they give as a “reward”. If somebody has an AP, filled out a survey, lives in FLA, got a new Disney Visa, etc. good for them and they might deserve something special.

Disney sending seemingly random e-mails and postcards to some people but not extending the deal to others is just rude. To me it’s saying, “We want Joe to come but not Jim.” Then they send out another “round”. As if they are saying “Well… since Joe can’t make it, I guess we’ll take Jim, but certainly not Frank!” They will probably open the discount to the public – but only after their “chosen” customers have first shot. :headache:

:confused3I know they can’t send mail to everybody in the world. When a good customer calls and asks for a discount that has been given to another yet is denied that discount, with no explanation, it is just wrong. If they could give a reason as to why one was more “worthy” then another it would be different.:confused3:

I have received postcards in the past – but not for the fall promotion. I don’t even need one anymore since I am renting points from a DVC member. Had that not worked out I would have chosen to stay off-site rather then pay rack rate. My Sister is desperately still looking for her discount. She has filled out every survey, requested planning videos, re-confirmed her addresses, etc. She has reservations at the YC and is not able to get any discount – even AAA is not available.

*Stepping off my soap-box*

:laughing:Maybe if we were taller, richer, thinner or prettier…

How I wish I was a Star-Bellied Sneach:crazy:

Hey, since misery loves company I'll jump in too - NO e-mail for me either! :headache:

I do have the 5+2 package booked but I also have a one-night room-only reservation the night before the package starts -- at, gulp, rack rate! :scared1: I've never paid rack rate! It hurts!

We really don't need the UPHs that come with the 5+2 package because we always take a day in the middle of the week to just hang out at the resort. I'd prefer to get a great room-only discount and buy PHPs.

Come on Disney send me an e-mail!!!! :badpc:

Debbie

No e-mail. No-post card. No AP rates yet.............sigh..............

Here's hoping the Disney discount e-mail fairy visits all of us tonight and we wake up to an e-mail!!!!!

We've ALWAYS received some type of discount! Last year was AKL for $119/night, and they upgraded us to a corner room Savannah view! I think we have maxed out our "favors" from the Disney Reservations Gods.... we're currently booked with no discounts, not even AAA...

:confused3 mmmm…*checking list*:confused3

I’ve paid my taxes, I say “please” & “thank you”, I don’t cut in line, I don’t pool hop, I don’t “recycle” mugs… :scratchin

:earsgirl: I’m a good Disneyite :earsgirl:

:crazy2: Where is MY discount!:crazy2:

No e-mail, snail mail for me either. Keep hoping for AP rate. I have reservations for WL October 31st to Nov. 3 with AAA discount, I wanted to add a night but nothing was available. Oh well.

Hi,

No postcard for me either!! Not that the dates would work out. I start school in two weeks & won't have a long break until October.

Allison

We didn't get one either. We've been every year for the past four and just finally bought our first APs : ) We're going back for trip # 2 of 'o4 the second week of Dec. What do we have to do to get these discounts?????

Somebody please tell me....anybody!?!:( :(

Since Disney collects so much information from guests, I would assume that this information is cross-referenced with their marketing plans. If someone is a frequent guest (maybe even an annual visit qualifies as "frequent"), they are less likely to be selected for an e-mail or postcard discount than someone who visited WDW once a few years ago and has not come back since.

Also, if you already have a reservation with Disney for an upcoming trip in '04, it's probably not likely that you'd be selected for a discount e-mail or postcard. Disney already has you "locked in" ... they are looking for additional new guests to add.

Somehow I think going more frequently (multiple times a year) may work against getting these types of discounts. At that point, the guest is clearly demonstrating their committment to come, so there's little to no need for Disney to offer an enticement to encourage you to come back.

I'm sure some % of the postcards and e-mails are directly to recent or maybe even "frequent" guests, but the large part are probably aimed at those who've been but not "recently" in Disney's timeframe.

Nothing for me either! I had a false alarm the other day with a postcard from WDW in my mailbox -- it was just a reminder that I'm staying at CSR later this month (duh!) and some "tips" for me.

I am an AP holder and have signed up on the Disney site for info, but nothing! I recently bought tickets for MNSSHP and thought FOR SURE they would e-mail me a code since I WILL need someplace to stay in October!!

Nothing for me either :( We have the first part of our trip booked with a AAA discount and the other part with the 4/7 Disney Visa Deal. The later part was a good deal but I really wish I could get something better than AAA rates for the first 3 nights.

I'm not sure that it makes a difference if you have ressies right now or not.

I was one that did get the email (don't think I am going to use it because we got a 2 bedrm. condo for $220 for a WEEK, and Poly was $209 a NIGHT with the discount).

When I called to check on Deluxe resorts, they wanted to know my email address so they could put it in the computer. She said, "I know you got an email from Disney, but WE don't have your email address HERE." I thought that was kind of strange.

I've put in my email address on WDW on-line in the past because I was getting some info or a video or something(never made ressies on-line). My email obviously didn't get passed onto the ressies department at WDW travel. So I don't think the emails came from the travel department. (hope that makes sense)
:)

Put me on the list ....No email for me:( .....still crossing my fingers for that email.

Good luck to you all of getting the email!

I didn't get an email. What a shame, too. DH said if we could have received that email with the discount we would have stayed an extra 4 days at WDW. I called to see if maybe they had me in their computer, and I didn't get the email, but I was told I couldn't get any discount.

My 13 year old niece was offered a discount though.

Guess we'll have to spend those extra days off site and spend it was Universal instead. Oh well. I heard Universal is a blast. :)
