Does anyone have any ideas or have done this?

This will be my DS's (2) first Disney trip and DD's (16) 7th Disney trip. I have been there too many time to count and DH's 2nd trip. :goodvibes

I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to make this trip extra special? DH and I just got marries in April. So this our 1st trip as a family, (familymoon).:grouphug:

I saw some people made cards thanking the child/kids for visiting xxx park or seeing them at xxx park on the day they visit. And some people will get towels done up by Mousekeeping in Disney themes. People decorate their doors, but that is not really our thing. Well, more not really DH's thing. He doesn't like the idea of advertising ourselves.

Any other ideas? I am really scratching my head on some little extras to do, especially for DD.:confused3 She loves Disney, but is still a little like a typical teenager that she doesn't want to get too worked up in something when with family. Has to put on the I'm too cool for this persona. I know she would love to do a spa (has told me so) but we do that once in a while together not on vacay just to keep a bond. I still want her to feel that Disney magic. :wizard:

DS will almost be 3 when we go. So any ideas for him would help. Links to sites on where to find "boy" characters, Buzz, Woody, Peter Pan. How to get him to not be scared of the characters in costume like Mickey and the gang, who he LOVES!

Thank you everyone! :flower3:

Towels are done by mousekeeping. Leave a not for them. Sometimes there is one upon arival. It is a hit or miss though. Another option is to put together a gift basket of sorts. When we were there in 2008 when we came back from the parks one day there was a Hanah Montana beach towel on DD12s bed with a little note attatched. She was quite visably upset when we left the villa that morning, fighting with her brothers who are a bit older and like to harass her about any number of things. They live to tease her. While waiting for the MK bus at the HH one of the CMs was trying to make her smile. He was the one who checked us in the day before and actually remembered our name. I am pretty sure he was the one who left the towel .

I have an age gap between my children too. My boys were 8 and 12 when my youngest was born. When we went to Disney, they had fun making Disney special for my little guy. I let them push the stroller, take the photos, pick the attractions. Maybe your daughter would like to add some pixie dust to your 2yr olds trip by picking out a few Disney T shirts or toys that she could surprise him with each day. There are some really cool tye Dye Mickey shirts that she could maybe make before the trip. Just get her involved in the planning, maybe take some books out of the library. When we get to Disney, my boys get just as goofy as they did when they were little. My 20 year old got his hair cut at the Main street Barber Shop, complete with Mickey Confetti. You will have so much fun.!! Have a great trip!

We just returned from Disney and before we left I picked up a Buzz and Woody plush from Kohl's for $5. DD (14) slipped into the room before us and put them out on the bed for DS (6). We told him Mickey left them for him. He loved it! We have a year before we return so I'm going to try and find a little something to leave each day for him. I'll try to find somethings for DD too but of course she will know they are from me. I seen some really cute Disney beach towels at Target so I'm going to get them each one and have a friend monogram their name on them. I seen Matchbox sells a set of 5 Mickey Mouse club house cars so I'm going to pick up a set of those. DD will be a little harder to find things for but I might make her some things. We like to check etsy for ideas. I'm super crafty so I can usually make something once I see it.

Would your daughter be interested in doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour? Or how about a segway thing? Disney Quest is a lot of fun even if video games are not your thing. Does she like water parks?

We have an age gap in our kids but not as great - they will be 3, 5 & 12 when we go. We are planning a lot of down time this coming trip so I want to let DS12 do the archery experience (we are camping at Fort Wilderness) and also he and DH (or me) will probably take out the sea racers one afternoon while the little kids are napping. He likes to help in planning things for the younger 2 to do – he’s chosen BBB for DD3 and the pirate cruise for himself and DS5 to do our first morning there. He’s also been great in helping to choose character meals.
