Okay Sbers how many pictures did you take at Disney of your family?

How many days were you there?

I am trying to plan ahead and buy memory for my digtal camera and I want to know how much to plan for. It will be our first trip and I don't want to run out of memory. :flower: So far I have over 500 pix I can store and I have another 300 (unopened) but I am wondering if that is too much. I am feeling gulity about spending the money but thinking with the rebate it is a good deal and hate to think I could be missing out.

TIA!!! We wil be going for 7 days and at least 5 to the parks.

You can never have enough memory :) Will you have any way to empty your cards if necessary? We're bringing DH's laptop so he can access work files, so I am taking advantage of that and uploading my pics each night with my camera dock. I am a picture freak so I know I will take a ton of pics. I took 50 pics at my niece's 1st birthday party last week. There are so many things in Disney that I want to take pictures of, and I know my kids will be pushing the camera away by the third day LOL

You can never have enough memory, I second that!!! Be sure to take them at a high resolution if you have any plans on printing them. Don't save them at a low resolution just to fit more on the memory card.

I'd buy more memory than you think you'll need, especially if you don't have a laptop and don't want to spend $$$ downloading images to CD at the parks. You could leave it in the package and only open it if you need it... if you don't use it, take it back to the store (unopened, of course). I think I filled 3 128 MB cards on our last trip.

I second that. We filled up a 512(?) MB card and luckily still had the small one that came with the camera in the camera case. Before the trip was over, I went through and erased pictures and movies that weren't just right, to make room for more. pirate:

Thank you, I think I will keep the extra card I just got. So now total I have a 64 (present with camera from MIL) , a 256, and 2~ 512's. :D. I just don't want to be short with 3 kids and so much to see and do our first time. They were so cheap with the rebates I couldn't help myself but I feel gulity buying so much. At least I got them (a 256 and 2~ 512's) for just a little less than I would have paid for two 256's at Walmart. :cool1:

Last year we took approx. 500 pictures with our digital camera and we stayed 7 nights. This year we bought a new camera and enough memory that we could take 1500 pictures....yes we are picture freaks and I am a scrapbooker!! Good luck and take lots of pictures!

Safetymom - I am new to the digital camera (Olympus 5mp) and I am wondering which resolution to use. There are 5 different options available. I've been using the middle one but haven't yet had any of these photos printed. By "high resolution" , do you mean the highest setting on the camera? Any advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Jackie :flower:

I use one step below the highest most of the time. The middle setting might not be high enough if you plan on enlarging them. It all depends on what you plan on doing with the images. I print lots of my photos at 8x10 and above so you need more resolution.

I may want to enlarge a few of them so maybe I should increase the setting. Thank you.

By the way, love your name "SafetyMom".

I would definately make sure you have more memory than you anticipate needing. And if needed, you can always go download them to a disk. We were there 6 days and only took about 300 pics. I thought we'd take way more than that!!
