as many times as i have been to disney, i feel like i am learning the "how to's" all over again as now i am a mommy bringing her baby- so i am looking to all of you to help me out. i have *heard* in years past about this magic hour. what is it? i am assuming it is in MK, right? do you have any other suggestions as far as shows, or things to do? thanks!

It is like an EMH for just Fantasyland and only Fantasyland attractions are open. It is very special because the characters are out in DROVES to play w/the kids...not pose or do autographs, but play. We lucked upon it in 2006 and played ball w/ Daisy and Minnie, follow the leader w/Mickey, rode the carousel w/Stitch and Goofy...then Stitch went on to Dumbo, Hook and Peter Pan were playing Hide n Seek and I even think Wendy was around looking worried about it, we saw Alice and the Mad Hatter skipping around and also Tigger, Pooh,Snow White and Dopey. I believe it was early Sept. and it was not crowded at all, just families. It is worth it to get to MK for it as often as they offer it! I would ride Dumbo and Peter Pan and Pooh as much as possible during this time, as they are always so crowded!

so how do you find out when these are??? They are differant then the regular extra magic hours in the mornings... ???

Here is the info on it from last year:

Seems like it is when older children are just back to school. There is also an awesome concert series at Hollywood Studios and acts like Doodlebops, Wiggles, Dan Zanes, Johnny and the Sprites are scheduled over that time period. We got to see Johnny and the Sprites as well and that was a great show too.

i am hopin between now and sept when we go..i can get my girls to be morning ppl. them like me arent big fans of early mornings but we (well i) really want to take part in this little ones magic hour.

The Little One's EMH is totally worth it. We took DD in October and had the best time! Every single ride in Fantasyland was a walk on. Plus the characters were riding too and she got to play Simon Says and dance with Mickey and Pluto. We also were able to see Johnny and the Sprites at Hollywood Studios and it was so much fun!

So glad I saw this post! We're going with our 3YO in October and I had no idea. I'll keep an eye out, hopefully they'll do this again this year. :)

PS Princess, your pics are adorable and what an AWESOME scrapbook!

This was one of the most magical moments we had on our last trip. If they have Little Ones Extra Magic hours when you are there....it is a must! We walked on Dumbo with no wait and our 4 year old was playing games and simon says with Mickey and Pluto.

my daughter is the one dressed like pocahontas.

this is my one year old with "bah pooh" as she likes to call him.

We did it twice last October and it was just wonderful. There are few things that will get me up that early in the morning, but you can bet we will be at rope drop this October as well. It was also great to move into an empty Tomorrowland at 9am!

I hope they do this again this year! We went to the 1st one last year (Aug. 26th) and the kids loved it.
DD4 and DS8 rode the carousel with Chip.
DD4 played "Duck, Duck, Quack" with Daisy and Minnie and played in Pooh's Playful spot with Tigger and Pooh.
We sang songs with Mickey and Pluto.
DS8 played a game with Peter Pan.
DS8 and DS11 played a game with Alice, Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter. DS11 tried to just sit and watch, but Mary Poppins scolded him and guilted him into playing. It was quite funny!:rotfl:

We also managed to ride Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan and the Mad Tea Party and loved just being able to stroll over to Splash Mountain at 9.

Can anyone tell me what dates they have typically offered these LOMH? I had heard they did this in September, but if they do it in Oct too I'll be thrilled! TIA

Wow this sounds amazing! I wish they did this at Disney Land Paris.
Hearing about this really is making me book a trip to WDW!

they didn't check our resort id's at all when we went. so i don't think you have to be onsite for this one.:flower3:

But I don't think you can get to the MK that early unless you have arrived by Resort bus. It is my understading (though I do not have first hand knowledge of this) that if you arrive early at the TTC they will hold you there (no monorails or boats) until it is almost time for the park to open to offsite guests. I could be mistaken- this is just what I have heard.

Here is a link to pictures from Magical Beginnings when we were there for it in September 2006.

http://dostalekfamily.spaces.live.com/ Once there...click on Magical Beginnings (at the bottom of the page). For some reason it won't let me do the link directly to that.

Now those are MAGICAL!! We were there in Sept 2007, and it was PACKED, IMO!! It was a Sunday, so maybe the weekend made it busier. But your pic's are exactly what I was anticipating, and it wasn't at all.
