Little Mermaid Ride Petition

I saw this is going around on other Disney boards as people are trying to get this attraction built:

You know the Little Mermaid Dark Ride that is a feature in the dvd? Tony Baxter says the ride may get built if WDI gets enough letters from fans.

I got the DVD and watched that part and I was thinking to myself "why isn't this built already!?!?!"
Even my DH said they should definately go through with making this ride, it looks so much fun!!

I still think they may put it in Fantasyland (replacing the Pooh Playground). I know they were contemplating doing a Mermaid Lagoon area like TDS has. I think the DVD is a view of the (possible) future.

Really though, it's kind of frustrating that they never built this thing... it was probably over the WDW "budget" at the time. I can see where some people are disappointed with the new Nemo ride when they see that we could have had this.

Actually, now that I think about it - the timing for releasing this virtual ride, right before the Nemo ride opens - probably depicts the Nemo ride as a disappointment in a lot of people's eyes. I have a hard time believing they would release this virtual ride-thru and then not build it though...

The virtual Little Mermaid ride looks AWESOME. My daughters watch it just about everyday since the DVD came out.

Thanks for the address! We just watched the ride-through this weekend, and I was stunned to see that this hadn't been built yet! What an amazing dark ride this would be!
