Hey all you creative moms out there I need some help. My daughter is having her 5th birthday party this weekend and I need some fun games. We are having a Little Mermaid party. The games don't have to necessarily be related to Little Mermaid but would be nice. We already have a Ariel pinata. Thanks in advance Dis Moms. :)

We just had a luau birthday for my DD's 4th. We did limbo and it was a HUGE hit. I was surprised actually. For our limbo music I had made a mixed CD with Limbo Rock, a Calypso Limbo and Under the Sea. Worked well. Some parents did it, too, and that made it that much better.

We also had a "mermaid race" that was, essentially a sack race. I had bought really pretty iridescent greenish fabric and basically wrapped it around the kids' legs-- I kind of adjusted it to be age appropriate for their motor skills, so the older kids were having to hop together while the youngeer ones had more of a three legged race thing going on.

Another thing that was a big hit was our favors-- we gave everyone a lei, lei crown, lei bracelets and grass skirt (scoured the internet for deals and ending up spening only about $3 per shild for all that!) We gave them this stuff right before the limbo dancing, and I had made a lifesize Hula Girl poster/ cutout and we all posed for lots of pictures. A friend had her digital camera mini printer thing and the kids got pictures right then and there; that was a BIG hit. We attended a Little Mermaid birthday where they had made a lifesized Ariel and cut out the face, then the kids poked their faces thru. That was cute, too. For a Little Mermaid party you would not want to go all-out with grass skirts and such but you could find big tropical flower clips for the girls' hair....

.... and... that was it for activities because we also had swimming in the pool.

Have fun! :teeth:

We just had a little mermaid party and one of our games was "pin the fin on the mermaid". We had blue koolaid to drink , goldfish crackers as one of our foods and sandwiches in a starfish shape. Another thing you could do is hunt for "treasures" in the sand.

We're doing a Little Mermaid party too for DD's third birthday at the end of October! I got a bunch of fish-themed party favors. You could also have each of the kids go "fishing" by putting up a cardboard box with the kid on one side and the grownup on the other. The kid puts his fishing rod over the side and the grownup attaches a little toy or treat to the line, then gives it a tug. Kids are always so excited to see what they "caught."

We did most of those. Pass the mermaid (potatoe). Also bingo was a hit. I had a ton of prizes to choose from.
