Does anyone know if there will be a height requirement on the Little Mermaid ride? We will be going in December with our DGD who will be 3 years old. She really loves Ariel.

I don't believe I am too tall. However, I do not know how to swim, therefore, I cannot become a mermaid. I tell ya, always something! Curses!

Thank you for your replies!! I hope you are right as Ariel is her absolute favorite Disney character!

Seriously though ...... well actually I am being serious, anyway ..... this new ride attraction will be utilizing an omnimover ride system, like the Doom Buggies at the Haunted Mansion. Therefore, I highly doubt that there will be a height requirement. The Little Mermaid will also be wheelchair accessible.

I believe I read somewhere that it is going to be very similar to the Finding Nemo ride in WDW, if that is the case, it will be a ride for all heights. :thumbsup2

Nemos vehicle type is a submarine. To where Little Mermaid, is an omnimover.

The large shell is the design of the car (Ride) to which one is seated upon. The omnimover is the ride system that is being used. It is also utilized for the astro blasters.
There will be one car that will be designed to resemble Triton's chariot, for people with disAbilities.

I hope it's not like Nemo at DL, that is just so wicked claustrophobic ... Please make it like the dune buggies at HM!!!!

That's what I'm expecting, and I love Nemo at WDW!!!. I get to go to Mermaid on Saturday, and can...not...wait! Hubby said it's like I've never been to DL before. Well, it's been 5 whole days

If you watch the video posted the other day...you see a shell and it looks like it operates like HM and Buzz.

If you haven't seen any picture of data of the ride please believe what I say.

It's like Gisele said. A Omnimover ride where you get on a moving sidewalk and into a car moving along it. The car will get to the end of the runway and gently close. It will hold two people or three if the third person is small just like the HM. It's not a thrill ride and will have no height limit, it's for all ages, babies to granpas.

In WDW the Nemo ride uses an omniver system, the ride vehicle is shaped like a clam shell. In DL the Nemo ride is on the subs in the laggoon. While the rides have similar scenes that is all they have in common.

Exactly. Frankly, I had not known what the finding Nemo ride attraction was like at WDW, until I checked it out a few minutes ago. And yes, like S F stated, it also is based upon an omnimover ride system.
There is no height or age requirement.
The ride does not appear to be claustrophobic at all. And the underwater effects are an illusion. The large clam shell that one enters, is open, like the Haunted Mansions doom buggies.
This new ride attraction looks like a lot of good fun and entertainment.

Yes there is a 72" height requirement... If you are not 72" tall please stay home on June 3... Spread the word... Thank You! :thumbsup2

Am I suppose to understand the previous several posts? Anyway... I answered pretty much this question the best that I could at this time. I am now done. I think.
