I wanted to share some of our experiences but it's a bit puney of a report and I'll explain why. We were 2 40+ yr old Moms who are accustomed to coming to WDW with our families, and having multiple ADR's. Since it was just "us" this time we wanted to be rebellious lol and eat where, what and when we wanted to this trip! The only reservation we had was at Shula's. We shared LOTS of snacks. Here are some highlights:

Chefs de France - This is a must do for lunch every trip. Have had dinner here once before. Planned on lunch again on another day but it looked like it was going to rain, and so we ducked in at about 5:10 and got right in. We had been snacking way too much so we went for our priorities...French onion soup, salad, and dessert. We apologized to our server for not ordering entrees but he was very sweet about it. We ordered French beers and gave him a tip that would be equal to what we would tip for a full dinner. We appreciated that he treated us the same if we had ordered a $140 dinner. As usual. the soup was excellent as well as the creme brulee and profiteroles w/ ice cream and chocolate sauce. Service has NEVER let us down here. The lady who brought Remy out to met us was A+ also. Love this restaurant and will return every time!

More to come in Pt. 2

ESPN Club - Love this place! Always have and this time was no different. Love the french fries and juicy burgers. Service was excellent.

Crews Cup Lounge - Another unexpected treasure. We had a wonderful server Nichole, who made us forget about all the rain outside. A+ for atmosphere and service.

Mara - We wanted to visit the AKL and had lunch here. I had a grab and go salad that I really enjoyed. My friend had a pepperoni flatbread that she enjoyed as well.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop - First time here since I'm not a big fish eater but this may have changed that. Even though we had to eat in a torrential downpour I enjoyed this! Fish was light tasting and hot! Chips were great! Will come back here for sure.

Tutto Italia - Another place we've been before. Had no adr but with just 2 of us thought we'd try another walk up dinner. Walked in and were seated immediately. We shared the Caesar Salad and both had lasagna. We had Italian beer. Delicious lasagna. I make a good one but I think the Bechamel sauce puts this over the top. We were too stuffed for dessert. Or so we thought until we walked to Morocco and baklava was calling our name. We took a bite and brought the rest to our room. Loved being so close to "our" Beach Club and those little Ziplocs to bring a snack back to the resort came in handy ;) Wonderful service and overall meal.

Shula's Steakhouse - I have wanted to dine here for years. We've had reservations in the past and for some reason always had to cancel. I've got to tell you in advance that this review is tainted. NOT by anything about Shula's or anything THEY did. We just had a bad experience with a beyond rude cab driver to get there that made us both so angry we really lost our appetites. We thought a glass of wine in the bar would help, but the lobby and bar were packed and very loud. A dance competition had just let out. We remember those days when our dd's were young. Made us miss them more than we already did.
We checked in for our reservations a little early. Bread was yummy. I ordered the prime rib (my favorite) medium rare, friend ordered a filet cooked medium. We share the au gratin potatoes. As everyone has said, the portions are HUGE. 24 ounces of prime rib? Jiminy Cricket! Both were done to order. I think her filet was better than my prime rib. A little more tender and flavorful. Neither of us came close to finishing. Our service was great. I definitely want to return when we are in better spirits. It was our last night, we'd been rained on all day and then had the foul mouthed cab driver who ticked us off so much it put a damper on things. I will definitely go back when I have a better appetite.
