Little Confused from what i have read...re:dining

When you arrive at Guest Services they attach a GPS to your ankle......
it's not a cult or IS IT?:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Once you arrive, you belong to Disney. When you run out of money, they will allow you to leave.;)

Magical Express is a brilliant move by Disney. They saw that people who rented a car to get to WDW from the airport now had a means to leave the resort. So with a minute investment of providing free transportation, they have you in their clutches the moment you disembark with no easy way to go any place else! Bwahhahahahahah...

Seriously for your first trip it may be a good idea to stay on Disney property. Then the next trip you can rent a car for a day or so and venture off site. And lets face it there will be more trips because whatever homeing device they put on you it works. :rotfl:You will be looking on here daily to see if you can swing a trip or just get your Disney fix. Its just so crazy, I wake up every day thinking how I can swing a trip,:surfweb: If you really need a shopping fix off site you could take a taxi to the Premier outlets Mall, but trust me that can be costly.:rolleyes1 Whatever you decide I hope you enjoy your first trip to Disney, it will be so magical!

You can leave to go for dinner or shopping, but you have to pay to get back on property, about $10 per person, I think, so it is not always worth it. If you *really* need to go off-site, better make a list of all the places you need to go and stop at them all on one day to save the return fees.

J/K.

What? There are no "return fees." You can come and go off WDW property as you please. There is a parking fee at the parks, however.

A few lines down she wrote "J/K". I missed it too the first time I read it. :thumbsup2

Last time we were there, Disney implanted chips in our heads. Now they track us all day, every day, with Mickey-shaped satellites. Beware of the knock-out mints...

...... and if unfortunately you should realize that you have a chip implanted they send the MIB with there guns............

No! No! No! It is not a GPS and it is not done at Guest Services.

When you check in to your resort they lock a collar around your neck. They use the same technology that is used for dog electric fences. So if you attempt to go off-property until the time you check out of your resort, and the collar is unlocked and removed, you will get severe electrical shocks.

I thought that was a pin lanyard! OMG! And now you're going to tell me the pins actually emit an opiate-type of chemical to keep you addicted and high on Disney so that when you're not wearing it you get depressed and do anything you can to get back! Uh oh, I've been trying to sell my pin collection -- is that why all these bad things have been happening to me lately?

Erin

Oh, duh. Although I wasn't up that J/K meant joke in Internet lingo.

:rotfl: I hear ya'...the other day someone posted a response to me that included some internet acronym. At first I was like, "Did she just cuss at me?" It feels like trying to learn a freakin' foreign language some days.

Technology copyrighted by Sleeping Beauty.

It's all starting to make sense now.

Wait... no.... MIB is in Universal!

AARRRGGGHH! My Disney implant just shocked me for even typing the word Universal!

AARRRRGGGHHH!!! :rotfl::dance3:

As my nephew says, DUUUUDE..

You are so right there. We got stuck in an infinite loop on World Drive between Epcot and DHS. I was beginning to think we'd hallucinated the rental car and were actually on the monorail. It was like Disney's version of "Groundhog Day". "Look, there's the ToT...and there it is again. And for a change of pace, there's the ToT from the other direction."

Easy signage my asterisk.

That is so funny. That happened to my DH and I the first time we stayed on property. We wanted to go shopping, and eat off property one day, and we just kept driving around in circles. It actually started getting a little creepy. We could not get out! Of course this was before we had a GPS. We always joke about it now everytime we go.

Yeap what did i say....dumb question!! You all are cracking me up anyway.
Well I never thought that you COULDNT eat and shop off property. But today i read a few posts saying things like...."well if you choose to stay off site you can eat cheaper off DW property"... and others so i was like....? HAHA And BTW I doubt we would be worried about leaving property anyway. Just was curious. Like I said ITS OUR FIRST TIME.....;)

Seriously i they are borderline cult. We havent even left, its ur first family trip and JUST the planning has got me absolutly HOOKED. Ive become obcessed!! :rotfl:

Yep, welcome to... OBSESSION!! :lmao:

We always drive down, and STILL don't touch the car while we're there, usually. We have been known to venture to the outlet malls (but only the 2 with Disney outlets!!), or eat at Sweet Tomatoes. But we PREFER to stay onsite, there's JUST SO MUCH TO DO WE CAN'T GET IT ALL DONE!!!!

We even went down just to see the shuttle launch in Nov, and ended up taking my 83yo Daddy to EPCOT! Sucked him in just like the rest of us. :rotfl:

It's the magic of Disney! :wizard: Have a great trip!!

The Disney bubble is nice. I like visiting Disney World. I have absolutely no desire to spend any time in Central Florida. I don't think I'm alone among DISBoarders. Which I suspect is part of the whole "you never leave" thing. Disney World does a much nicer job sheltering you from "the real world" than if you head out to Perkins for dinner.

If you rent a car, take a taxi or figure out the bus system you can leave anytime you want, it's not the Hotel California.
