Anyone out their with sons ever have breakfast or lunch at CRT? We will be taking our boys (DS8 and DS6) for their first ever trip to WDW in November :cool1: and I think they would both really enjoy the atmosphere of eating in the castle. My DH and I ate there on our honeymoon 12 years ago, but that was before the characters! My sons obviously are not "into" the Princess'. However DS8 does have a "thing" for Jasmine! After looking at the menu's and reading reviews, I think we'd all enjoy the food more at lunch rather than dinner and we have so many breakfasts planned that I am not interested in going at that time either. So let's hear from other mother's of boys who've been! What should I expect? :scared:

Our DS(3) loved breakfast at CRT! He loves the princesses, and knows who they all are. The princesses are wonderful with little boys as well as the little girls. Our DS got a kisses from all of them on the forehead, and all day long he wanted to see his kisses in the mirror (the lipstick marks!).
The best benefit IMO of the CRT breakfast, is going before park opening and seeing the castle and walking up main street without the crowds. I was able to get a wonderful photo of the castle without anyone in it!
Have a great vacation!

My boys were never Princess kind of kids. Power Rangers, yeah. Cinderella - who cares? I wouldn't take them to a Princess meal, but that's me.

My boys are very "boys" but they LOVED the castle!!!:yay: They also loved the princesses!! Isn't that what Disney is all about, the imagination and excitement of feeling the experience... The princess were as big of hit as Mickey or any of the other characters... They will love it and even if they say they don't they'll look back on it and take their boys there someday!! Have fun!

my ds was thrilled with all the princesses calling him handsome ;) he had a great time

Our 10-year-olds love eating in the castle. They tolerate the princesses. Their picture with Cinderella turned out very cute. They have a favorite waiter who we always try to get, if possible. He trades pins with the boys and they really enjoy that.

We always do lunch (breakfast is too early for us when we're on vacation). Lunch is a nice experience -- way overpriced for average (at best) to poor food. But, it's Disneyword -- everything costs four times its fair price. Why worry about it?

My DS also loved that. He had sunglasses on and Snow White told him how cool he looked. He's really looking forward to going back this year. One more note, we go for the breakfast and have found it to be really great. We're not big fans of buffets (wait in a long line, only to find out what you wanted is gone), so the sit down aspects is really nice.

My sons 14 and 16 yrs old.

My sons are very "boyish?" (3 under 6 yrs old) won't play with stuff animals b/c their girly :confused3 . They went to CRT for me. The twins just ignored the princesses but my oldest hid under the table whenever they came. Snow White asked his name and he said from under the table "I'm here for my Mommy. She likes Princesses. I'm not talking" So Snow White said "Oh you must be Grumpy and my son said "No my name is ..." I laughed and thought it was cute. But they really don't like going maybe they will when their 16.

My DS6 thought it was cool to eat in the castle but wasn't too happy about getting his pic taken with Cinderella. He said "Ok Mom, I'll do it for you, but you can't show it to ANYONE!"

My son went at 7 last year. He was totally embarassed and sat in the corner. Untill a princess told him he was so handsome and would make a great prince. After that he was all smiles and posed for all pics with my dd6.

I'm almost positive that neither of my DS's would mind, as they are both WDW lovers and try to take pictures with every character possible. I wouldn't force them into it though. However, I wouldn't go crazy if your DS didn't want to go. It is just a matter of what they think.

We have gone to CRT the last two years and my boys have enjoyed it. We went mainly for our girls, but the boys thought it was really cool to eat in the castle. Last year, they gave the girls wands and the boys swords. The swords were a hit! (In more ways than one :lmao: ) The first year, the princesses kissed my 9yo (at the time) on his cheek. We heard about that kiss ALL day long.

We took our 4 year old DS last year because he always asked to go up in the castle and that is the only way we knew to grant his wish. We went for lunch and I actually thought the food was great. (Although we did feel very rushed at first) Anyway, our DS LOVED it. He loved getting a sword and fell in love with Snow White the moment he saw her.

When we talked to him about going back to WDW this year, the first thing he said was that he wanted to eat in the castle again, so we will be there next Wednesday. YEAH!!!!!!!

It is true that only about 1/4 or less of the kids there are boys, but I say don't let that bother you.

Thanks to all you Moms and Dads of sons out there who replied! After reading the great advice you all had, I am still going to go ahead and book lunch at CRT. If nothing else, the atmosphere of the castle and the cool swords will be a thrill for my boys. :yay: I will not expect much else though. If they don't want their picture taken with the princess' or they don't want to converse with them, :snooty: then that's perfectly acceptable. I will prepare them ahead of time for the fact that there will be princess' coming around to our table and what they can expect. Hopefully they will be pleased in all, but I won't get my expectations up. It is their vacation too, and after all, if they're happy, I'm happy. :cloud9: Thanks again!

Oh-to everyone who suggested breakfast to get into the park early, we are hoping to get an ADR for the day before at CP first thing! Plus we'll be having a character breakfast at O'hana's, so I didn't want to book too many breakfasts on the dining plan. Thanks for suggesting though!

My ds 6 enjoyed the princesses as much as his sister 7. I think having a sister allows the boy to be aquainted and open up to things that when you have all boy families they may not have the opportunity to aquainted with.

I dont think anyone would question, should I take my daughter to "Lights, Motor, Action"

I think that if you want to take your boys, or if they want to go....GO for it!

The boys get swords and the girls get magic wands

My DS will be 5 and we're going to have breakfast at CRT in August. He's very excited about eating in the castle. I don't think he'll really care one way or another about the princesses. I'm sure he'll take pics with them since he loves getting pics with the characters, but I would stress the part about eating in the castle to your boys.

My son was not a princess kinda guy at that age but they give the boys swords and he thought that that would be good. He loved the food. My son was more into the food choices than my daughter ever was.

Thanks again to all who emailed me with info regarding taking my sons to meet the Princess' at CRT. The pictures you sent murcor were great! :thumbsup2 I showed them to my boys right away. It seemed to make them feel better about it seeing another little boy there. Actually I think my DS6 really doesn't care if the Princess' are there or not. I'm sure he'd talk to them and have pictures taken with them just fine. :cool2: It's my DS8 who is concerned about it being a "girly" thing to do. princess: The picture of your son next to the suit of armor with the sword certainly impressed him though! Love to see more pictures of boys and the Princess'. Anyone else have any to share?

This turned out to be one of our 3 boys favorite memories from child hood. they are very into the whole castle thing, and on this next trip it was very important for my youngest son graduating to take his SIL here. Can't wait!
