A little more info - I created AZCat at DL when I was there in July. I read the screens and knew all of the "safety" measures that were in place but thought I would take a chance anyway. The name refers to the University of Arizona Wildcats since I graduated from there and still follow the teams. AZCat seemed like a nice and short way of referring to the school. After 4 days, to my surprise the name was approved and I thought everything was ok.
Like I mentioned in the 1st post, I understand the reason that it was taken away - using the postal abbreviation for Arizona could reveal location information. Although a person would have a tough time finding me there since I am in CO.
I just wish it would have been done sooner as I kind of got attached to the name.
Darkside - I think it was more about my use of the postal abbreviation for Arizona (AZ) and not a reference to a donkey.
MousseDude - I think I'll stay away from CourtesyFlush
but DesertCat has a certain ring to it.
MaliaMike - Back in the days of a limited friend list, I think you were my 1st or 2nd in-game friend.
DocHT - I remember when players were made to remove numbers from their name. I'm glad you were able to find a name that you like.
Miakoda - I'll keep the character but will have to change the name.
CallMeFlower - Sorry about your name change and thanks for sharing. Your name seems like it could have been left alone - it's not as if it was SoCal, SCA or one of many other combinations. I probably drew attention to mine by capitalizing the "A" and "Z."
Friendly-Face - Do you have the Staff Metting room bugged?
My guess is that it will take a little time to get a "permanent" name. The replacement I submitted still used AZ. As a pre-caution, I sent a message to VMK asking that it be changed. I did not want them to accept it and then have to go through another name change at some point in the future.
