We get many post about how to save for Disney and how some times it seems like it's impossible. So here is my disney saving success story.

Last December, my youngest son and I decided to see how much we could save for spending money. My youngest is in that horrible zone where he's too young to work many jobs so he always feels like he can't save alot becasue he doesn't get a "paycheck" like his older sibs.

Anyway, we commited to 50 cent each ($1.00 dollar total) a day and put it into a 5 gallon water jug. After a month the entire family was throwing in their spare change. We started on December 1 and cracked the jug open last

Grand total!!! $529.

Never think that pennies and change don't add up.

We do the same thing.
The first time we did it we guessed at how much was in the jug and boy were we surprise that it was actually a lot more. We use a milk jug from Sams club since it has a rectrangular size. We write on the jug the date we started putting money in. THen when we dump it out we write the date it was emptied and how much we saved. We have been using the same jug for the past couple of years and it is neat to see how much we have saved over time.
You would be surprise how much you can save in a short time!
I also add to it all the money I get from rebate checks. $2 here $5 there helps boost the pot.
And it is a great way to get kids of all ages to save money which is a good life lesson to show your kids who will hopefully pass it on to their kids.

Very cool! I have thought about starting this 'habit' with my own family. It really does add up!

Our change goes in the "Disney Bucket"
My kids...DD14, DS9, DD8 at one time would walk over a shiny quarter on the ground, until we rolled up all of our change...Pocket change turning into hundreds?! Boy! That money saving strategy was the best learning experience ever! They will now pick up pennies off the ground (even in public) and proclaim..."For the Disney Bucket!"

We also get a Disney gift card and every week or biweekly will call up the 800 number and add $25 to it.
