I was listening to a very funny bit on the radio this morning when it was my turn to order at the drive-thru. I turned down the radio to make my order, although I was a bit disappointed to miss part of the show. Then, I turned it back up again and left it on while paying and picking up my food. Driving away, I wondered if that had been a bit rude to the restaurant attendent. Any thoughts?

I have had the raido on while paying for food, but I have it turned down. Many times, they are trying to get the next order taken from the car behind me.

Yeah, you should always try to turn it down low enough so they can't hear it. It's hard enough trying to understand the person's order on that headset and taking a payment and making change at the same time.

I always turn it down completely until I get done ordering, then turn it up until I have to pay. Sometimes it's hard enough to hear what the employee is saying as it is. They usually sound like Charlie Brown's teacher, "Mwahmwahmwah".;)
