I was sitting here at the computer going over the final plans for our upcoming trip (10 Days -- Can't wait..)

And I got to thinking so we've got a fair bit of driving to do to get there that I should dig out my Disney CD's to put in the car changer.

So.. I'm listening right now to Classic Disney Volume 2 -- I remember buying it at one of the parks. It's a mix of songs from the movies, new and old, and some even from theme park attractions.

And the Main Street Electrical parade came on. I saw that parade exactly once at Disneyland in California before they got rid of it for the "Light Magic" spectacle/disaster.

Anyway.. I got all excited. So.. I started digging some more.. and then I found some CD's that McDonalds had been selling at one point. The one I have in my hand right now is HERO SONGS .. Mostly from Pocahontas, Aladdin, Hercules, the Little Mermaid and the Lion King.

I also downloaded a bunch of park audio from another thread here on the DIS -- stuff like the soundtrack to Wishes, One Man's Dream, Spectromagic, and so on.. I'm going to burn those for the car trip as well.

I had to share .. who else listens to all kinds of Disney stuff in the days before you go?

We visit orlando a few times a year, but i have to admit its not always to WDW. But that is how I like to inform our kids thats where we are going. When we wake up in the hotel and get everything done, and we set out for a day of fun..... I go to the car earlier and put in the park music cd, then as we are going down the road I turn up the stereo. But....................let me explain..............we dont have just a stereo..................... we have a 2000 watt stereo with 12" speakers..........It sounds incredible. So I think everyone thinks were nuts because we are jamming to Disney music. But they just dont know....

Oooh I bet.. Now I have to start saving so I can "Pimp-ify" my stereo in the vehicle..

The DIS boards are evil. :stir:

I go to Live365.com and listen to music from the parks on free internet radio to get my fix. There are radio stations that play attraction soundtracks all the way through, area music that you would actually listen to if you were say...sitting on a bench around 'Soarin' or walking around Epcot, parade and show soundtracks, and some Disney movie soundtracks too. Just go to the website and search for:

Walt Disney World

My personal favorites are: MouseworldRadio, MouseJunkies, and Radio Buena Vista. Those are on my preset radio stations.

I listen for free and don't get 'CD' quality sound and have to listen to a commercial when logging in and every 3 tracks or so, but that is no biggie for me.

This helps me to actually "relive" moments from the park. I hope you can find them and have some good listening fun!!

Okay.....had to share what was playing right now. It is IllumiNations Pre-Show music. It is a pretty instrumental Irish piece. I love these radio stations, because the music brings back such great memories! I remember cradling my infant daughter, two months old at the time, and rocking her in my arms to keep her happy while waiting for Illuminations to begin when we brought our family to Epcot in 02'.

Okay, sappy I know, but thought I'd share anyway!

I recently uploaded most of Disney CD's onto my iPod and just put them on their own playlist. These include:

Classic Disney 1,2,3
Music Behind the Magic Box Set (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin)
Beauty and Beast (Broadway)
Lion King (movie AND Broadway)
Wilderness Lodge playlist (from iTunes and various CD's)
Fantasmic
Illumination
Wishes

The Sounds of Disneyland box set (yeah, I know it's DL but it still helps; besides their version of Wishes is SO COOL!)

And my faves:

Bibbidi Bobbidi Bach
Heigh Ho Mozart

ALL of these work wonders to get me in the mood for WDW! Officially 30 days from today!!!! :-)

I heard some of Chris Calabrese Ragtime piano on one of the online radio stations and found the CD on Amazon. This guy is good! He sounds a lot like the pianist that plays in front of Casey's Corner.

--I listen to Illuminations, Wishes, and Fantasmic also! I have not heard the DL version, but will try to find it now!

p.s. Music is one of my passions, so surrounding myself with the 'Sounds' of Disney is such a mood lifter. Especially since I have plane tickets and reservations for my next trip!! The first with my kids at ages they can enjoy and remember Disney and my first trip in over three years! Actually it will be my very first 'vacation' to Disney since the last time I went I was a CM. Yeah...I'm so excited!!!

I recently downloaded the background story on Gracie Mansion from DoomBuggies.com.

It is like a book on tape. About 20 min. Great story. Sounds spooky. Cost a mere .99 cents. I stored it on my phone and figured I would let the kids take turns listening to it on the plane.
