List of stops among the Epcot Resorts when coming back by boat from Hollywood Studios

Last month when I stayed at the Boardwalk and took the boat to Hollywood Studios the stops were Yacht Club/Beach Club - Swan/Dolphin - Hollywood Studios. That was how it was also listed on the sign above the entrance to the boat dock at the Boardwalk, so I assume it's always like that. Now when returning from Hollywood Studios we were told the 1st stop was supposed to be the Swan/Dolphin because it was the closest stop, however we had to stop at the Yacht Club/Beach Club because there were boats already docked and the Swan/Dolphin and the Yacht Club/Beach was the next closest stop. Plus because it was there is a threat of lightning boat service would be stopping until they were told it was ok to resume operations. Anyway I am just wondering when there is no issues with the weather shouldn't the boat stop 1st at the Boardwalk when returning from Hollywood Studios, because it would be doing the opposite route being Hollywood Studios - Boardwalk - Yacht Club/Beach Club - Swan/Dolphin - Hollywood Studios.

The normal routing would be:

DHS
S/D
YC/BC
BWI
Epcot

And reverse that order going from Epcot to DHS.

Thank you for your reply and I guess I was wrong with my previous guess. Oh well in December when coming back from Hollywood Studios I can always walk back to the Boardwalk assuming the weather will be ok to do that.

The route is essentially a letter Z with long tails. Epcot is on one end and S/D is on the other; YB and BW are in the middle of the Z.

You're forgetting all about Epcot on that route. The two parks are at either end of the route. So, if a boat needs to be docked, due to weather, then it will go to the next stop on the route...in your case that would be YC/BC. If there had been boats docked there already, the boat would have gone on to BW. But, the boat will stick to the stated route.
The route is always...from Epcot...Epcot, BW, YC/BC, S/D, DHS.
From DHS it goes to S/D, YC/BC, BW and finally to Epcot. Practically etched in stone.

For whatever reason I thought the Epcot boats were on a different route then the ones for Hollywood Studios boats, because at the Boardwalk they have two seperate lines. So I learned something new.

One line is for the boat to the Studios that is coming from Epcot. The other line is for the boat to Epcot that is coming from the Studios.

By the way - did you get a replacement AP with the character you wanted? :)

Believe or not the character I got on my replacement AP was Minnie, although after using it I don't care as much as I thought.

Did you ask if they could give you (or not give you) a certain character before they reissued the ticket? I'm glad you're okay with Minnie. ;)

After the ticket got printed out I asked was it possible to change it because I said Minnie was not my 1st choice, but the Cast Member said they don't know which ones are next to be printed. So even if I asked before it wouldn't have mattered. I also thought of going to Guest Relations at the other parks and taking a chance on changing it again, but I realized they might be able to see each time I change it and they would have seen I recently did that.

We walk from HS to the BW all the time - takes about 15 - 20 minutes depending how quickly you walk. Or if you take the boat - get off at the Swan/Dolphin and walk over the bridge and you are at the Boardwalk. We just missed the boat one day going to DHS, we walked over to the Swan/Dolphin and beat the boat by a good 5 minutes.

Absolutely true. I know that my friend and I approached the boat dock at the Intl Gateway to get on and go to DHS. But, they were just casting off. They yelled that another boat would be along in 15 or so mins. Nope, we yelled back....we'll walk to DHS and beat you there!!! Not happening was the response. We arrived at BW about 1 min after the boat did. As we walked through the village green, the boat was casting off, heading to YC/BC. That was the last we saw of the boat until we approached the entrance to DHS. We saw the boat coming around the bend. It probably was docking as we went through the turnstiles at DHS. Beat them by about 5+ mins!!!
